Advice on March in Maui at WKORV-N

So today was the first day that I could access the Vistana website as a result of my purchase of a week at the WKORV-N. I plan to go to Maui in March, but March at this time is unavailable at any of the Westin properties on Maui. So I could either wait to see if the first week of March becomes available or I could schedule a week next summer with the purpose of renting it out and renting a week in march from someone else. What would those of you who have more experience with scheduling a week with Vistana recommend?

There is currently availability for 6 nights (2BR/1BR/Studio) starting on 3/18/2018.

Or if 1BR is OK and you don't mind moving midweek there is 3 nights in the N starting on 3/18 followed by 4 nights in the S starting on 3/21 for a whole 7 day stay.

This is the deal - if you own ocean view or ocean front, you won't get your view if you make a March reservation, because March is outside the 8-12 mo. home reservation window.

Any reservation made 8-0 months before check-in is a Staroption/Floating reservation - even at your home resort. In other words, it is too late to get your deeded view.

Right now the EARLIEST you can make a Home Resort Reservation, and get your deeded view is April 20th or later.

I have ocean view. Based on what you are saying, I am hearing that I should rent something from another owner this year and schedule a summer week for 2018 in order for me to rent to someone else. Is that your advice?

If you want to go in March, and you want a guaranteed ocean view, that's your best option.

One more point - if you are going to make a summer reservation to rent, you want to try for a Saturday check-in between the last week of June and the first week of August, for the highest demand. Availability is getting thin, so you want to make a reservation ASAP.

Hey Denise - Is there typically a better week to reserve or any week during that time period would be good? Do you think it would be better to reserve a 2-bedroom lock off or make two separate reservations for a 1-bedroom and a studio?

A 2 bedroom is better - studios are hard to rent by themselves.
