Address to cancel new purchase?

Hello, New Friends!

A couple days ago I bought package including 2000 points and a Newport Coast week from the salespeople at Shadow Ridge. I paid way too much so now I want to rescind. They gave me all the contracts electronically. There's a form to cancel my ownership, but none of the addresses are filled in.

I'm still searching the thousand pages they gave me on a thumb drive, but does anyone know the proper address?

Thanks!
Dave

Further down in the addendum for purchases made in California, I see that the developer is Marriott Vacation Resorts, and their principal address is 7812 Palm Parkway in Orlando Florida, 32836.

Would that be the right address?

It sounds correct but I am not 100% sure.

Your best bet is to send your cancelation to ANY address you think is valid (even if you send it out four times). Send each letter via USPS Certified Mail and get them Postmarked tomorrow morning (the Post Office will close @ noon on Xmas eve day).

Retain copies of your paperwork and any Postal Receipts. Also, be sure your paperwork is signed by any buyer that signed the original purchase agreement.

SMART MOVE to rescind. Now you can buy resale and save your self many thousands of dollars!

Allow 45 days for your refund.

Thanks, Mr. Traveler,

I made this purchase on the first day of our stay. I want to get the rescission out before we get back to Houston, so I went up to the resort office, asked the concierge for a half dozen envelopes, and printed out the key sections I need to mail to them. I will have to fill out the form by hand, but it should work ok.

I bought a package 10 years or is ago that included this Shadow Ridge week, and it turned out to be a pretty good deal. This time, I didn't really need any more points but I wanted the Newport Coast week. I'm embarrassed to say what I would have paid for the package they cooked up for me this time.

Thanks again. And my heirs thank you.
Dave

BTW, I have only found that one address, but the package for New York sales also includes and email address, so I'll send it there as well.

congrats on finding TUG in time to rescind and save thousands!

given they seem to "forget" to include the address so frequently, one might consider it intentional!

here is a post that has one address from a printed contract, sending it there along with retaining proof AND the fact that the copy of your sales contract neglected to follow applicable state laws should result in a successful cancellation even should a dispute arise!

That looks to be the address of the sales office at Grande Vista. It may be out of date as Marriott Vacations has moved all their corporate offices to their new O-Town corporate office off Palm Parkway.

Also, not sure it is necessary to send it Certified Mail to every address. The OP really needs to ensure they have read through everything in their contract to find the address applicable to them. This may depend on the state and even sales office where they purchased. It seems they found the address. Certified Mail to that address is the most they really need to do. Any additional addresses could just be sent via First Class Mail (stamp), perhaps with Certificate of Mailing.

Also, the only way to "retain the postmark" is to obtain a Certificate of Mailing. They physically stamp form 3817 with a postmark and hand it back to you. It proves the address you mailed to and from. Anything else is just proof that you mailed something with tracking and perhaps also proof of delivery. Since proof of delivery is not necessary for rescission, sending Certified Mail to multiple addresses is an unnecessary additional expense.

Certified Mail is also slower than First Class Mail and can sometimes cause unnecessary stress when people see it hasn't been delivered for a while. Though knowing it got delivered can offer peace of mind.
