Okay, so I made the exchange into Grande Vista on 12/10 and I know that I need to let it "season" in the system before I can log into my Bonvoy account, using the Marriott reservation number on the exchange form, and have it find and add the reservation. However, I seem to recall a thread about how that no longer works, but I can't find the thread using the search function. (I swear I tried!) What's the best way to do this? What I'm doing now gets an error message on the site.

Also--if anyone has any recommendations about what kind of room to request, I'm open. Based on the room code, we've got a two-bedroom lock-off. There will be three us, no young kids (just us and our college-aged daughter and maybe a friend of hers) in mid-January. We're doing the new Universal park one day, and then maybe some of the great day trips recommended in a different thread. Just don't want to get a parking lot or noisy street view. TIA!

I still add them to Bonvoy the usual way but in my case my name is on the II res (I think bc I’m listed first) and my husbands is on the Bonvoy account so I first have to change the name on the res on the Marriott site to his and add the Bonvoy number.

Hunh. The Bonvoy account is in my name, and I can log in. Using the website. Should I try the app? Try it without being logged into Bonvoy? Once I enter the reservation number in the look-up window in Bonvoy, I get this message:
We're experiencing a technical issue. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again later.

And have since I tried it about 2-3 days ago.

Don’t be logged in when you lookup the reservation on Marriott.com

I was able to add an II reservation at Sheraton Vistana Villages to my Bonvoy account, using an incognito mode, without logging in. But even with the Bonvoy number added and the reservation appearing under my Bonvoy account, I still had not received the Bonvoy elite qualifying nights automatically. I had to request a credit for a missing stay.

Thanks, friends--that did it! I'll try my best to remember the not-logged-in next time. :) And I'll be prepared to call in, if needed. I'll also be sure to buy a drink and charge it to the room, so there is something on my folio.

Did you have a charge to your room? Our experience at SVV is that we had to charge something to the room. I just bought a basket of fries at the pool bar & grill. Marriott resorts aren't a problem and we don't need room charges to get the credit, but the Vistana properties seem to have issues when you don't charge to your room.

We just purchased at Shadow Ridge, secondary market of course. The seller had already banked their points for 2026 so made us an II reservation in lieu since we are paying the maintenance fees. Thanks to this post, I was able to log in “in cognito” and attach my Bonvoy number to the reservation. Appreciate all the helpful information!!!

We were at GV last week. The exchange has my name first but on check in I made sure they had Kim's # listed and then double checked it during the week (by text). She received the nights credit within 2 or 3 days. I was not able to add it in her Bonvoy account since my name is listed first.

Bumping this--just got my request email overnight. What unit should I be requesting? Would not like a parking lot view or too close to a major road. We are hot tub people, so would love to be close to a nice one. Isn't there a "back way" out of this resort? We are doing one day at Universal Epic and wouldn't mind be close to any driving shortcuts.

Thanks in advance for any advice, and I know that no requests are guaranteed!
