I'm sorry to hear this. I just watched 'Lost Boys' yesterday for the first time in several years. He and his son are/were great actors.

R.I.P. Sir. You breathed life into so many characters I identified with. Rest Now with a hearty,

Donald Sutherland: 10 Greatest Performances

The Hunger Games showed he was a versatile actor that spanned generations. I was just saying the other night he was a great actor while watching a movie he was in.

Another legend gone and what a versatile and accomplished actor he was! And apparently just a really nice guy, too. For some reason I always remember him as Sgt. Oddball in the satirical and comedic "war" film, Kelly's Heroes. It always made me laugh!! May you rest in peace, Donald. You will be missed!

I was riding an escalator in LAX airport (1989 or 1990 timeframe), and a father was talking to his son just one step up ahead of me. I thought to myself, I know that voice, but couldn't place it. I know he was talking to his son, as his son called him "Dad". Someone missed stepped getting on the escalator below us, and make a bit of a yelp. Father and son turned around and looked down. I looked up and said, "I knew I recognized that voice". He just smiled and said "Have a good flight". No it wasn't Keifer with him, but another son.

I was going to bring up Odd Ball, For some strange reason I the first time I saw Kelly's Heroes was in radio city music hall. I guess my dad wanted to see the movie or the Rockettes. I was just reading some trivia about that film and on IMDB it states that Donald Sutherland almost died from meningitis in Yugoslavia while shooting the movie. Glad he pulled through to have a long career.
