It's always interesting to read weather predictions. I usually check the NWS (NOAA) along with reading the detailed weather discussion posted by a UCLA meteorologist/faculty member. It always gives me an appreciation of the problems associated with weather forecasting, especially for Southern California, where there are so many different climates (desert, mountain, beach, valley). They all use similar (if not the same) computer models and when the various models don't agree, they have to guess which one is going to be more accurate. Not an easy thing to do sometimes, especially when slight changes in wind direction can make the difference between rain or warmer than normal temperatures, and the models change from run to run.
If anyone figures out how to accurately predict mountain weather for more than 2 days out, they'll make a mint!
