Family of four, nearing the end of a Discovery package. We've enjoyed the trips, and pretty much everything about the Club Wyndham experience.

We got big eyed at the bonuses and offers to convert in a sales presentation, and agreed to a 126k points package. The more I look at it, I can do a lot with the $16k I'm nearly on the hook for in addition to the regular fees. I'll be sending my cancellation letter before we even get home. Cross your fingers for me.

That being said, we do like the Wyndham experience and I'll be in the market for purchase. Couple of questions:
-Do all CWA get access to RCI and Last Calls?
-Is it easy worth the add-ons like TravelUp and Plus Partners?
-Short of messaging sellers here, any way to no or filter searches for those inclusions?

Find a low maintenance fee deeded ownership. See attached.

Are there people that would buy CWA (over a deeded contract like Bali Hai) - now that you know what you know? I just feel like buy a low maintenance fee (deeded) contract has to be the way to go (if you were starting from scratch with the knowledge you have today)?

I would not automatically rule out CWA, but that's because (a) I can routinely plan more than a year in advance, (b) I am limited to school vacation calendars and, (c) often want larger (3BR+) units. So, for me, the broader ARP rights have some value, and the higher MFs aren't a burden. I'm open to paying a little more for that extra flexibility.

That's my line of thinking as well.

My kids are young (9 and 6) and I want to experience things and places with them, not be locked into a recurring place/trip. That's the entirety of why CWA was an appeal to us in the first place.

It's worth noting that you would NOT be stuck in a recurring place by owning a deeded property. CWA doesn't give you access to more locations. It gives you access to some locations earlier. I do not currently own CWA, and it's possible to get some very good reservations if you are prepared to reserve something at ten months on the dot.

I agree. My timeshare ownership has spanned my kids' ages from preschool to now high school graduation, and I have rarely felt limited by our deeded ownership. Certainly in the times when it's just our core 4 humans traveling and a 2BR is our typical booking, I can't think of a time when the 2BR I wanted wasn't available at 10 months. When we travel with extended family and we want a 4BR, sometimes I need to be a bit creative or we need to settle for 2 x 2BR instead of a 4BR all together.

Thanks for the input on deeded access. I was given different information in the sales presos (shocking, I'm sure). :ROFLMAO:

My cancellation went in the mail yesterday, so once I'm free of the big burden, I'll be ready to roll. I've got some more research to do until then!

Appreciate all the info being shared my way and across the forum.

You won't be tied to the same place. Points are points at 10 months. You can book anywhere in the Wyndham system with those same points except the Margarittaville resorts. I believe Margaritaville is 5 months reservation window for resale. Where do you want to go and how big of a unit do you want?

I see you bought only 126K points at the sales presentation, they didn't tell you those points won't go to far. You may not even be able to book a full week with this amount. Go to the Wyndham website and look at the resorts you are interested in and you'll see a link for "Points Chart" look in there. This will guide you on how many points you will actually need. Helpful hint: Fri/Sat stays require more points, so if you want your points to stretch book stays that are Sun-Thurs or include only one of the weekend days.
