All,

Say, one has Vistana weeks that converts to 15000+ abound points, which can get you to Chairman level.

To enjoy the benefits of Chairman level in a given year, is it necessary that you deposit 15000+ points worth of weeks?

Or, do you still get to enjoy the benefits of Chairmen irrespective of how many weeks you choose to deposit in a given year?

Thanks.

It doesn’t matter if you deposit or not. Enjoy your status!

There are only a few benefits that aren't tied to actually using Club Points, like Bonvoy status, cash rentals and a few others. So without using points, there aren't all that many benefits to take advantage of. The benefits do however carry over to VSN with the extended banking deadline and consolidated fee structure for VOI based reservations and exchanges.

@dioxide45 I am most interested in "13 months 1+ nights" reservation window benefit. Can one deposit, say 3500 pts, and still be able to use this reservation benefit for that year?

Yes - the reservation window depends on your Owner Benefit Level, not how many points you elect each year. You could reserve 1+ nights at 13 months out even if you just rent points from others and never elect your weeks to Abound points (which you may prefer to do if you can rent points at $0.70 and rent out your week for substantially more, or if you just want to keep using your home resort and try out things in Abound here and there).

Just the person I want to talk to. I have been renting Marriott points to my Vacation Club account. Can I rent My Marriot or Abound points to my Vistana account now?

You should only have one Abound account. Any Marriott points you might own, points from MVC weeks that you elect or points from Vistana VOIs that you eelect should all go into that account. Thus any points you rent go into the same account too.

Your "Vistana Abound Account" may have a different account number but should be linked to your MVC account. Depending on where you log in from, the look may be a bit different, the number of tabs may be different (e.g., no MVC weeks info when you log in from Vistana), but you should see the same number of Abound points when no matter where you logged in from and what the source of the points was (election, rental, etc).
