Sam's Club recently sent out email notifications that they will be raising the annual membership fee effective May 1, 2026.

You can renew in advance of the fee increase if you wish.

Sign on to their website. Click Account Information. I found an option to renew now (at the current price). You should find it either under "Membership dashboard" or "Manage memberships."

My membership expires in early August. So I did this earlier today and was able to extend for one year at the current price.

With the $10 saved, you can splurge and buy a couple of gallons of gasoline!

I joined last week, after a lapse of many years. Once the kids were gone, it was no longer that beneficial for us. But Sam’s had a $15 membership special in March. I already bought the rotisserie chicken (which I had totally forgotten about!), shoes, and coffee. The fine print says the membership will automatically renew at the going rate in a year. I have already written on the calendar to cancel by then. Living alone now, $60 would not be worth it to me.
In the past, I would occasionally go in on an advertised day pass for 5% off purchases, but have not seen that offer for a long time.
