A "loophole" in the American Express Hilton Aspire card

I (and many on an Aspire Facebook page) believe AmEx Hilton is aware of this loophole, but they keep it knowing it fuels use. Here is how to get $250 off a United Airlines (UAL) flight!
  1. If you already have the card, or just signed up, go to the card's page and select UAL as your preferred airline.
  2. Sign up for the UAL Mileage+ program if you haven't already.
  3. Deposit $250 using your Hilton Aspire card into the UAL TravelBank. You can add more $ later. You'll also receive 7x points. Some members of the FB group say you can put it all in at once, some say you need to divide it over 3 deposits, either looks like it works.
  4. Within 6 weeks, you will see a statement credit of $250.
Since I have not done it, I am assuming it works. I don't have any vacations planned just yet, but I will certainly try!

Are you saying that you can do this more than once thereby getting more than the $250 credit?

You can only do it for a total of $250.

Cat out of the bag now. Have been doing this for at least the past 5 years. I have been able to add $250 all at once and not have to split up transactions for deposit into travelbank.

When the travel bank was closed for deposits for a year, there was a long work around.

Not it will only be a matter of time till this loophole is closed since it is on the internet.

It works on Southwest Airlines if the fare is less than $100.

Well, just deposited $250 into my UAL travel bank using the Aspire card. If it works...great. If not, I use United all the time and will get it used anyway.

It's actually somewhere between $105 and $107 for the ticket to have this work. I've used for, I believe $106.98. Flyertalk has lots of data on the limits.

Cheers.

Hope this still works in about 6 months in January. I make my deposits to travel bank every January.
