I previously had somewhat dismissed the MVC SF as high priced but I needed a couple of hotel rooms in SF next month and was able to book them for 210 and 262 points - much less than the cash equivalent prices of comparable Marriott hotels.

But the necessary use was for the weekend of Feb 7th 2026. *Something* is going on in SF that weekend and the only Marriott hotels available were the Adagio in the Tenderloin and the Courtyard on Van Ness (and the rates for those two were absurd). Thankfully I was able to snag a pair of rooms at the MVC (the RCC was sold out). Just a warning for anyone headed into SF next February.

The Super Bowl is being played at Levi's stadium that weekend, unless your "something" was being sly.

Sounds like you got a bargain stay. What a great way to use Marriott Abound points. I am sure you will like the timeshare over a hotel room as well. I still haven't used our Abound points. I am using our SO's. It's actually kind of strange to have those at our disposal. I forget about them.

If you choose to have a car, be ready for some sticker shock. We stayed there in January and it was $75 a night for a small car, 80 for oversized.

Thank you for the warning, but "Location: NY, NY". So normal prices for valet parking... ;-)

For better or worse (and unlike the Boston, SD, and South Beach City Collection locations), the SF MVC *is* just a hotel room. But a very attractively priced one!

No...I didn't bother looking it up and actually sort of assumed it was some 'once in a lifetime' (since it's in February) Apple event. I may have to rethink our plans though...I booked four nights for us to recover from jetlag from Hawaii but I can't imagine that on Friday (or even Thu or Wed) it will be much fun to be in SF.
