"With Black Friday and the holidays fast approaching, it's time to start thinking about what you want to buy friends and loved ones.

We're not all flush with cash, though. We have a gift guide for those looking to spend less then $50, but if you're able to get a little more generous, these suggestions will still keep your bill under $100..."

The Rasberry Pi computer is the basis for a home built device a lot of pilots are building to replace a $800 receiver for their airplanes for under $100. ;)

The waffle iron is cool (but not for $80). :D

Cheers

Darn, no IPad Air 2's on that list. I'm watching for early Black Friday pricing. My best Black Friday score was about 7 years ago when I bought an HP all-in-one desk top from Walmart of all places. I had been in a week before Black Friday, just to have a preliminary look at pricing and there was a skid on the floor still shrink wrapped in plastic. There was an HP all-in-one loaded with what I wanted, and I asked the fellow to scan the bar code that was showing. He gave me a price that seemed too good to be true for Canada pricing. I had a look on my cell phone at Walmart.com for US pricing and there it was. The bar code brought up US Black Friday pricing a week early. It was a good $100 cheaper than it sold in Canada up to a year and a half later. I asked if he could cut it out of the skid and I'd take it.....I literally ran from the store with the box before they could call me back. But alas technology is current for so long, and that PC was relegated to basement storage two years ago....and come to think of it, what am I saving it for?

What do you get for a tech guy who works for Google and gets all of his toys free?

Something non-tech, like a backpack and a guidebook to the Pacific Crest Trail. Just a thought.

Thanks for the idea, but I think they already have every kitchen appliance they need.

Last year we got him this really cool clock. Nothing he needed, but he has it on his desk at work and loves it.

Does anyone have any experience with Kano?

That looks pretty cool for the kiddos.
