I read this today on millionmilesecrets.com, which is Daraius's site for frequent flyers.

B of A cancelled Rick's card accidentally, and Rick saw his card was cancelled when he checked the payoff of our mortgage (our mortgage was attached to the same account). He called them and asked why, and he told them to leave it closed. B of A sent him a new card in the mail about six months later. I guess they didn't want to lose his annual fee every year.

I wish they hadn't done that, because I would have him apply again for the 50K miles. Maybe I will still do that and have Rick tell them he never got that card. It's still sitting in my file with the sticker on it to call when it arrives. :D

Cindy, I don't know how you manage it. From your various posts about how you pay all those maintenance fees, and how much $ they add up to, managing all your air miles, working all your t/s points, your scheduling of vacations and all - while you run a busy business - it's overwhelming! I'd be like a puddle of melted Jello at the end of the day. :)

My sincere kudos to you for handling it. Seriously.

we got an extra 200,000 points by churning CC plus the SW companion pass. all done in the past 4 weeks. my retirement frequent flier account has brought me over the 1.5 million mark. not with 1 airline but enough to go anywhere we want to go when we are retired.

Be careful about inflation.
