Good morning everyone

I was in Thailand during September 2024 and dont know how I got into Wyndham Club Asia for a $19,900 contract.

Total payments made till today is about $5k.

Is there a way to sell my WCA TS? if not, can I just stop paying the remaining installment amounts without any legal obligation?

I'm sad I didn't know TUG before but happy at the same time that I can still foind a way to not lose the remaining amount of the contract.

No, you cannot sell it if there is still a balance due. Your options are pay it off, or default.

If you default there may or may not be a credit hit. As to whether there will be any other legal consequences, that's a question best answered by a lawyer.

Thank you for your reply.

I resides in the Middle East and bought the TS in Thailand that is legally binding in Singapore. Default is the plan to go.

As long as you understand the consequences of default feel free to do it. The same logic applies when you first signed up the contract to buy - if you didn’t understand the consequences of signing for WCA, you should not have signed up for it.

Now please find a reliable source and read and understand the specifics of the loan that you had, and all the legal consequences if you default. It’s likely a personal loan, and not a mortgage and it’s very hard to be forgiven everywhere in the world. At least, you will be harassed for a number of years when they attempt to collect it and you will see your loan balance quickly bloom up to 30k or 50k. You can ignore them and it’s your choice and likely they will give up in the end but it’s also possible you will get hit a law suit or a court ruling etc, further pressing you. It’s entirely possible that your current or future employer or any of your current or future business partners may find out in the public record or your credit report if that happens. So if you understand those consequences, pros and cons, you should feel free to do it.
