400 Charges Filed Against A Dozen Nissan Dealership Employees For Selling Damaged Cars

12 employees at a Nissan dealership in North Carolina are collectively facing more than 400 charges surrounding allegations that they sold salvage and flooded vehicles without telling customers

The owner/s on down should be in jail
This type of fraud is really low life

It is not the original problem.
The insurance brought their damage/ salvage automobile. Then the insurance sold that salvage automobile to Nissan employees. IMHO

Why is that a problem??? It is perfectly legal to buy or sell a salvaged vehicle; what is not legal is to misrepresent that vehicle when you go to sell it again. So why do you think that there is any issue with the insurance company selling the salvage cars? There is no way the insurance company could know that the buyers were intending to commit fraud. I think your blame is greatly misdirected. By A LOT.

Heck, by your logic, we should be blaming the car manufacturers for creating the cars in the first place.

The Nissan Dealership employees violated the trust.
As a Dealer or employee of a dealer, they are bound by State and Federal laws regarding disclosures
A vehicle with a salvage title generally has a lower value
Finance companies are generally reluctant to finance salvage title vehicles
An educated and informed buyer can make their own decision about the value of a salvage title vehicle
To not disclose the information is fraud
If a private seller conceals the information, that is one thing
If a reputable car dealer is involved in not disclosing a vehicle has a salvage title, they are in violation of the law
