40 TPUs = 3 weeks trade

After cancelling my futile RCI ongoing search for Moab, we had 40 TPUs that expire 6/30/2025. Scrambling to find timeshares, we found that Holiday Inn Apple Valley Georgia near Helen, a place I'd always wanted to visit, had availability for a 2-bedroom May week for 20 TPUs. 20 points left....
Two couples in our circle leave next week for a month in Hilton Head. Last night on a whim decided to search RCI to see what might be available there. Voila- a 2-bedroom Spinnaker at Shipyard was available starting the 1st for 8 TPUs. Can't wait for the shock and awe when we surprise our friends.
So 12 points left...
(BTW, we booked an extra vacation at $599 for Worldmark Monterey Bay in March, so looking at April to use those 12 leftovers)

RCI’s mantra is “let no $299 exchange fee go wasted.” It also works out nicely for them that they get almost $900 more in exchange fees from the vacation that didn’t work out.

I oughta check into buying Wyndham stock! We are done with RCI when our membership expires in 2026. It was a good ride for awhile, but lately we've been the ones taken for a ride. Has any Tugger ever found a good deal using Exchange Plus? That option seems to add insult to the injury of the $299 exchange fee!
Thanks to TUG, we've leveraged our timeshare purchases over the years. At the turn of the century a tip to buy a South African week got us RCI membership for a quarter of a century. Past advice to deposit early and enter an ongoing search asap worked well and got us some great exchanges- the best was Chateau Maulmont in Randan France!
