Rosemary Hayne, 39, who hurled burrito bowl in face of Chipotle worker Emily Russell after she got her order wrong is ordered to work at fast-food joint for two months to avoid prison sentence

  • Customer Rosemary Hayne, 39, was found guilty of assault after she hurled a chicken burrito bowl at Chipotle employee Emily Russell, 26, in Parma, Ohio,
  • Judge Timothy Gilligan ordered Hayne to work at least 20 hours per week at a fast-food restaurant instead of going to jail

Those poor people who will have to work with her. This is a person with serious anger issues who is being forced to work. You think she is going to be pleasant?

If this woman does anything that is against the law, the unpleasantness of a jail sentence awaits her.
I like the creativity of this judge! Working at a fast-food restaurant just might help her develop empathy and understanding for workers vs. time in lockup where resentment can fester.

I would hope that the judge has anticipated that and will require regular evaluations of her performance.

What a waste of a good Chipotle Bowl.
I thought the same thing about the poor business and employees stuck with this woman. Who is going to have to train her, interact with her, manage her work, look her in the face, etc. etc.? Some business is going to be stuck paying for her training only for her to rush out the door when her time is served. The sentence is a good idea but perhaps not fully baked.
It would also be interesting to see the initial job interview. "Hi, I was arrested for throwing food at a manager and now need a job to serve out my sentence for bad behavior. Don't judge me as I've already been judged and that is why I'm here. Hire me or I'll make a mess of this place. I'm told I'm best at making tossed salad and throwing pizza dough. Just keep me away from the Mexican food as I already tried to reenact the "Animal House" movie scene FOOD FIGHT with no success."

I think if she is not successful in completing her sentence properly, it is jail. Give her supervisor a hard time, she gets hard time. A simple equation, however may be beyond the comprehension of an entitled jerk like she is.

I think the onus is going to be on HER to FIND a job. BECOME a productive employee worthy of being scheduled for 20 hours a week. Don't check all the boxes and it's three hots and a cot at the county pokey. I suspect the jobs there will be a lot more unpleasant there than at Taco Bell.

What an ingenious sentence for this woman! I think the judge mandated a brilliant punishment that may have some lasting positive consequences for this rude, entitled person.

I wonder if she was unemployed to begin with. I don’t think a judge would have made this decision if she was already working 40 hours a week somewhere else. Good for the judge for making her get a job. As I suggested in my prior post, she is going to likely be a co-worker from hell from either a poor work ethic or attitude, or both.

Three months in the county lock-up or two months working for McKeyD's she would have to make arrangements with an existing employer. I suspect with her rage issues, that employment is dubious.
