How about How High Is The Moon by Les Paul and Mary Ford. The use of an electric guitar as a lead instrument (with Rock'n'Roll overtones) in 1951.

Great songs, all. Wrong decade. My Girl and Under The Boardwalk were recorded and released in 1964. Moon River came out in 1961. Even The Twist, originally released by another band in 1958 with moderate success, wasn't recorded and released by Chubby Checker until 1960. That's when it became a smash.

About ten days ago I went to a concert called Happy Together. The association, the Vogues, Jay and the Americans, the Turtles, the Cowsills and Badfinger. At least one or more original members in each group. I still can’t get those songs out of my head. My 15 year old grandson even enjoyed it but said they were too loud

Now you are forcing me to go back in time .LOL
Elvis Presley "Hound Dog." "Jail House Rock." and "Don't Be Cruel"
Nat King Cole "When I Fall In Love"
The Everly Brothers "All I Have To Do is Dream"
Sam Cooke "You Send Me"
The Flamingos "I Only Have Eyes For You"

Now I need a cold beer and some Blue Crabs to eat, to chill and to listen to some Oldies But Goodies music. LOL

While those mentioned are all great songs, the song generally credited as the first true rock 'n roll song is "Rocket 88" (1951)...

Ike Turner's piano intro on "Rocket 88" influenced Little Richard who later used it for his 1958 hit song "Good Golly, Miss Molly." Sam Philips, the founder of Sun Records and Sun Studio, and many writers have suggested that "Rocket 88" has strong claims to be called the first rock'n'roll record. -- Wikipedia

And that is an almost clear descendant of 1940's Boogie Woogie.

Blueberry Hill was originally sung by Roy Rogers
I could find no evidence for that statement.
Gene Autry is credited with the first recorded version (1940).

BTW... There's 13 acres of u-pick blueberries
on Blueberry Hill Farm near Clearmont, FL.

The 60s was a great era in music, especially the British Invasion groups and California surfin' music.

Badfinger was part of British Invasion. Apparently their manager stole all their money, two members committed suicide, the third died and the last guy is still working for a living well into his seventies

I'm not really into that 50's sound for the most part but there are exception's like Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and Link Wray. I only know of Link Wray because I was learning this riff as it's easy enough, sounds decent and there are no words, lol.

It's been said that Link Wray's "Rumble" (1958) changed Rock and Roll.
He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Jimmy Page.

But I can't let that last instrumental go, without a look-back at this classic...

Nice one.

How about the very first rock song called "rocket 88" by Ike Turner. I saw a clip about this a while back. Supposedly they blew an amp and filled it with newspaper which gave the guitar a new distorted sound. Some guy liked this so much he started Sun Shine records and recorded this song. I'm probably butchering the story.
