I'm not aware of any ability to borrow residence points from future years. However you can buy up to 120 additional residence points from other owners and sometimes you can get great deals on these points.

Remember, when I paid 2024 dues I received 60 points that expire 30 Apr 2029. If you want 2026 points you have to go to the marketplace and buy them.

I think the confusion on this is partially coming from your post below, where you indicated you used 2025 points for a reservation, but 2025 hasn't started yet. Maybe "borrow" isn't the right word. It sounds like you get your new points on Jan 1, is that correct? So when booking a reservation into the next year it sounds like you can use the points that will be deposited between now and the reservation?

As the Hapimag fiscal year-end approaches on April 30 it is an opportune time to purchase extra points that expire after April 30. For example, a London check-in say April 25 2024 can utilize these points that expire April 30 even if the stay extends into May. I just purchased extra points that expire April 30 for EUR 1.30 per point. I made the reservation using 2025 points but after the points purchase these 2024 points I just bought were automatically substituted into the reservation for the 2025 points. With the points marketplace Hapimag has created an excellent way for owners to monetize expiring points and for travelers at fiscal year-end to get great deals.

I was invoiced this year on Jan 1 for 60 points with 30 Apr 2030 expiry. I could use the points after the invoice was paid.

Quick note to update: I did purchase 1 Hapimag share. There's a 2 week recission period, and they don't take the payment until after it ends. The invoice appeared in my account today, and I was able to pay it with my credit card (after some fussing - they don't take Amex, and my Mastercard wouldn't process the charge, but my Visa worked...)

I've already made a reservation for London next summer.

Congrats on your purchase @bizaro86 and your first London reservation. This is the one timeshare that has had me really interested but I haven't gone for it (yet at least). It will be nice to have another TUG expert I can hit up for advice on Hapimag!

Not for how I'm going to use it. It would depend what you wanted to do with it, obviously, but the "3 room premium" (a 2 bedroom unit) I booked for peak season in London is 40 points per night. So 60 points per year is really only 1.5 nights in that unit. Many of the resorts/units are a lot less than that though, and it was easy to rent the extra points I needed as part of the reservation process. (120 points per year max)

I really like how long the points are good for - I'm not going to go to Europe every year, so I'm planning on treating this more like a triennial. Save the points up and take a bigger trip every 3 years or so.

Cool. Is the annaul due roughly CHF 326.40 per share still? I will treat it as a club membership fee then. With the ability to buy extra points, I see no advantage of acquiring more points. Many US systems have a fixed club due built in for each contract, so bigger points contract have some lower fees. Is it cheaper per point also for Hapimag?

Yeah the discounted annual due table makes sense. The buy-in price is reasonable less than 2000 per share and I can imagine they have eliminated most of the sales force. In US, the majority of the large buy-in goes to pay the salespersons, a huge waste.

We really enjoyed our two stays at the Hapimag Lisbon. Our first stay was for two nights in May in a 1-room premium room for 41 points and EUR155 local charges. The location was one block from Avenida da Liberdade and the luxury stores and restaurants there. The room was about 400 square feet with a kitchen consisting of a sink, fridge, microwave and 2-burner induction stove. We walked to a nearby Aldi supermarket for breakfast supplies and had dinner in a restaurant at the foot of the nearby funicular on a tree-lined street with boulevard dining.

Our second stay in Lisbon was for five nights after returning from the Algarve. This time we stayed in a 2-room comfort suite about 540 square feet for 115 points and EUR327 local charges. The kitchen had a sink, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and 2-burner induction stove. There were two bathrooms, one with a large shower and double sink, the second with a toilet and single sink. The bedroom was separated from the living area with pocket doors and there was a big walk-in closet which was a surprise. This resort had a laundry room in the basement providing us the opportunity to do laundry after staying in hotels in the Algarve. The unit overlooked the pool in the courtyard and made for quite the comfortable stay in Lisbon.

I really like this Lisbon location.

The first stay was two nights for EUR219.35 all-in. This included 30 rental points for EUR39.00, a great deal.

The second stay was five nights for EUR996.30 all-in for the larger unit.

Hapimag has announced that, effective January 2025, points will expire after 10 years instead of five. Also, points will expire after June 30 instead of April 30.
