Hello everyone, I just wanted to say hello and thank you to all the tuggers that help with advice.

I just recently moved to NOVA and have been researching Wyndham for years now on TUG and just wanted to say I picked up my first
Massanutten / SHENANDOAH VILLAS 3 BEDROOM LOCKOFF during week 47

looking forward to having this.

Sorry for the delay. But, welcome to the Vacation Village forum. A couple of questions for you. Have you also joined RCI? And, did you purchase weeks or points?

If you haven't joined RCI yet, visit the Vacation Village web site and download the current version of the newsletter for Vacation Village & Affiliates. There's a discount for an initial RCI membership in it. Website is here:

We started out in RCI with straight Weeks. Two years later, we added Points.

All the timeshares we ever had were resale -- no full-price timeshares from any timeshare company at any time. We just paid peanuts, mostly through eBay but once that I remember straight from an existing owner who was ready to sell out.

After churning our (pardon the expression) "portfolio" various ways, we downsized bigtime, selling off or giving away all our timeshares except 1.

Today all we have left is 1 triennial 1BR points timeshare out in Las Vegas (another link in the Vacation Village timeshare chain) that's good for minimal points -- 16,333 points annually. With Last Call reservations & various RCI bargain special offers, it works fine for our timeshare travel purposes.

I was a member of RCI before VV. I already have a 3 bedroom enrolled in RCI that is in myrtle beach that is getting me good trade power.

This recent VV purchase is during week 47 and I plan on going to massanutten during that week.

Thanks for replying. Now I understand the purchase. While I've not been to Massanutten there's several on TUG who own and have enjoyed the resorts there. Having recently moved to NOVA I expect your will be using your home week. I also understand that Massanutten also occasionally offer bonuses that are good values.

Spot on what we are thinking !!

We plan on using our home week and taking advantage of discounts of being part of the VV family !
Glad to hear what I was thinking but as spot on !

I am new to the Vacation Village Family also. Just bought a 4bdrm/4ba Woodstone @ Massanutten from eBay back in October. I currently have The Colonies in Williamsburg pending transfer. I was so glad to see this Vacation Village forum. I planned to use my purchases mainly for trades to Orlando area. However, since Virginia is within reasonable driving distance, I won't rule out options for staying at home resort(s) either. I am so happy to have a forum to share with other Vacation Village Owners/Family.

I am a new owner at Vacation Village at Williamsburg. 4 bedroom lock off that was deposited into II.

Glad to see this forum established.

Welcome Priscilla. A couple of questions:

- Did you purchase weeks or points?
- When you made your deposit did you deposit it as one 4BR or did you break it up into two 2BRs or four 1BRs?
- Why Interval International and not RCI? I ask because I don't know if with II you will get bonus weeks like you may get through Vacation Village's close association with RCI.

With my VV at Williamsburg, I get the extra vacations in RCI whether or not I deposit there.

Hello hun. I bought weeks. Fixed week 23, 4bd deposited into II as 2 2 bedrooms. For some weird reason, I got 2 AC from II.

Another thing to note, I paid the membership fee and signed up for RCI as well. I haven’t done much with RCI. Just looking around to learn and take advantage of last calls et al. I have been eyeing a cheap points system such as Grandview to purchase for RCI use in the future. But there is a lot to learn and patiently waiting to start enjoying these trips.

How do I request for the extra vacation in RCI? Lol. I signed up for a 3 year membership but haven’t received any free vacation yet from RCI yet. Lol

I was just playing around RCI to see what the TPU will be. I guess if I decide to deposit next year’s usage with them by September this year by paying paying MF early, the maximum trading power is 22. Time for me to learn what 22 TPU can get me plus so much more.

So far, I have an ongoing search in II for a couple of dream places that I would like to go. Lol. Just playing around more than anything, and basically just trying to figure this TS world thing out.

Well, Priscilla, I'll try to address all your questions in one response.

I bought weeks. Fixed week 23, 4bd deposited into II as 2 2 bedrooms. For some weird reason, I got 2 AC from II.
It appears Interval International provided you with their equivalent of RCI's bonus weeks. The AC in II is about the same as an RCI bonus week. There is some differences though. The AC is generally for off season inventory at a graduating price scale for Studio, 1BR, & 2BR with a specific expiration. The RCI bonus is for limited inventory, not just off season, at a fixed exchange fee.

How do I request for the extra vacation in RCI? Lol. I signed up for a 3 year membership but haven’t received any free vacation yet from RCI yet.
The extra vacation/bonus weeks come from Vacation Village and are deposited in RCI. Since you made you deposit with II I'm not sure Vacation Village would deposit bonus weeks in RCI for you. But, it can't hurt to ask. ;) The way to do it is to call Customer Service at your home resort and make the request. At the very least when you call your home resort to deposit next year's weeks in RCI you can also ask about the bonus weeks.

TPUs work a lot like points. It's just the scale is different. However, Weeks accounts can only see other Weeks deposited by other members and developers. While Points accounts can see Points inventory AND Weeks inventory. And, yes, there's an enormous amount of information to absorb.

I have been eyeing a cheap points system such as Grandview to purchase for RCI use in the future.
If you're going to do that I'd suggest you look at the low end since you already have the 4 bedroom at Williamsburg. Something like a 1BR biennial or triennial at Grandview. This will give you entry into the points world while limiting your maintenance fee costs by spreading it across multiple years.

Thanks for all the great info. Much appreciated. Guess what; I attempted to book a last call on RCI and for some weird reason I could book any VV property by just paying the exchange fee. I was unable to book others though. I didn’t book but I have a feeling the bonus vacation from VV might already be in my RCI account. Thanks. I will probably deposit next year’s usage into RCI to try that out.

Every 5 years VV runs a special promotion of an exchange to another VV property for just the exchange fee. When you booked it, that's what you wound up with.

Sent you a PM about the extra vacations.

Watch the Grandview as last time over 10 months ago they were going to build more units and all and they may of started already? I like this place as they have a shuttle to strip and golf carts to take you to parts of their big complex's.

They haven’t started anything new yet, but still mentioning building across the street.

I know in August there was still a good amount of developer owned units. This was discussed at the owners meeting when it was inquired how close to quorum we were.

The last time I visited Grandview they had stopped running that shuttle. But, I believe you can pick one up in front of South Point casino. I don't know if there's any fee for that shuttle. Gràndview used to charge $8 for theirs.

South Point has not resumed running their shuttle yet. Hopefully with occupancy rates increasing quickly now it will be back soon.

Hi to all from a 'newbie' to TUG. Despite having owned a timeshare at Cliffs at Peace Canyon for many years now, I only just realised that it is a VV resort! You may guess from the spelling of 'realised' that I am a UK citizen (Scottish to be precise). Anyway, to also find that there is a forum specifically for VV folks was another revelation. I don't normally sleepwalk through life despite the evidence to the contrary. Just wanted to say high and hope to learn more from all you knowledgeable people.
Feel the need to say stay safe and well as it seems all forms of communication end that way right now at least here in the UK.

I wouldn’t expect the shuttle to return, since Uber/Lyft are popular, and once the driver issue is resolved will be much more flexible.

I have advertised my Cliffs At Peace Canyon timeshare for $1 on TUG marketplace. I will pay all transfer fees if anyone is interested in becoming new owner! There is no mortgage on this and although I haven't paid management fees for this year yet, I will do so prior to 'sale' should someone be interested. To further explain, have owned this property for a number of years now but for health reasons, cannot travel anymore so looking to give it to someone who can either use it, bank it with RCI etc. I also have 90K RCI points that I am happy to transfer as part of the transaction. Anyone got any advice on what else I can do?
