Just booked Plantation Bay Villas at South Seas Plantation but can't find much in the way of reviews. Was hoping there might be an owner on Tug. If so can you give me an idea of what to expect. I was told that some amenities that are charged for at some of the other timeshares aren't charged for here - is this right.

Any and all info is welcomed.

still hoping for any info

anyone who can offer anything would be appreciated

We own at South Seas but not at Plantation Bay Villas. Most of the TS there other than Plantation Beach Club have the amenity fees built into the MF so there is no extra to pay. Not certain but I imagine PBV does this. If amenity fees are not included you can always opt out.

Is the trip over? We're owners there but just seeing your post now.

Still looking for info

Our trip is for December 2014 - trying to get any info on units - see some pictures online but not as flattering as I expected. Any info or pictures would be welcomed.

I haven't stayed at this particular HGVC but do know that most of the other affiliates charge non HGVC owners these nuisance fees.
If you booked this thru the HGVC club then you won't be charged the fees. If you booked thru II or RCI then I'd count on being charged the fees.

South Seas is a great place to unwind and relax. If you are looking for exciting night life, go elsewhere. We typically go when it is warmer and hang out at the beach. Unless you have one of the newer units like at harbourside, I would say that they are adequate, but not great.

I'm pretty sure the resort fee is included in the maintenance fee for Plantation Bay Villas which will give you access to the trolley, the main pool, and the restaurants. I'm not sure if the pools are heated. There is a marina if you like boating, a nine hole golf course and a t dock you can fish from.

The closest reasonable sized grocery stores (Jerry's or Bailey's) are about 30 minutes away on Sanibel so be sure to stop off before arriving. Fortunately, there is a Starbucks right outside the resort grounds.

Also, if you like stone crab, it will be right in the middle of the season when you are there.
