My gal friend just called from the Dominican. At a timeshare now. She owns 2 weeks (1 EOY) in the US and pays about $1300 a year maintenance. H10 has offered to "take" her fixed weeks along with $7,000 cash and convert her to a points system with them for 15 years that will allow her to get 2 weeks per year and pay no more maintenance fees. Ever. At the end of 15 years, she is done. no more vacations, no more fees.

I can't find anything on h10 in TUG. Does anyone know anything about this? She is sitting at the pool waiting for my call back with all the TUG knowledge I can find.

Thanks for your prompt answers!!

Joan

The salesman lied. There are annual fees and mandatory AI fees. Google: H10 Premium Club Scam.

And they won't take her existing timeshare. That's another lie. She will keep paying those MFs too.

Thanks, do you have any details? I can't find anything on scams other than complaints about the sales effort. Has anyone actually used this company?

Better yet, tell her to send you the $7K, and see what that will buy her on ebay, redweek and here in the marketplace.

im probably too late to help...

....However, my friend bought one of these programs in Cancun a couple of years back and she got the 15yr program as well. She doesn't have a yearly fee unless she upgrades to one of their bigger packages which are 25yrs. As far as I know the last time she went back she stayed for free and only pays all inclusive if she chooses to use the h10 part when she runs out of free weeks. At that point she said she'll just use the rci point part.

Please note that "Heather" is posting from Mexico and is almost certainly affiliated with this property, since she came here and used the search function to find this specific thread.

Thanks, Denise. I warned her, she bought it anyway. We'll see how bad she did...

I've been doing some research on this program lately. I have a relative that bought it in DR a couple of years ago - to the tune of $40,000! If I were along I would have said they're crazy.

So now this year they "used" their AI week in Mexico and Ocean Coral & Turquesa. I think they have extra "weeks" but can't possibly use them all! They still had to pay $50 per person per night AI fee - so $200 a night for the 4 of them. I looked online, and that is the regular rate for a room for 4 AI. How is that a deal? You're paying the regular rack rate!

Just sayin' that this company is a scam. Totally.

Please note that this thread is from 2010.

H10 Update

Interesting that this popped up again, I was the original poster for my friend. She did buy, she is rid of any maintenance fees and she travels every year and loves it. I'll follow up, but I don't think she pays any nightly fees as long as she stays at their resort in DR. She also uses extra weeks and goes to somewhere different in the US every year as well Uusually Sedona). And it all goes away for her after the 15 years, so she has no obligations. Works for her. Not something I would have done.
