I just received an email with a code to use and get 20% weekend stays at participating Marriott branded hotels. It seems to work at most hotels that I tried.

I actually just cancelled two stays and rebooked under that code.

It worked fine and dropped the price nicely.

marriott 20% off

thanks for the heads up on that one, terry. it might help out on a couple of weekend stays for us!

Just last night I made a reservation for this Friday in VA and wondered why the rate seemed so low - turns out they applied this discount without my knowing. That's good service. :)

Bad news, though, on a weekend reservation in Baltimore this July. It's now sold out so it couldn't be booked online, and I called the MR Guest Services line to see if they would apply the discount but they said no. Oh well. I don't want to risk losing the room if I cancel and try to re-book.

Thanks for the heads-up, Terry. These things help those of us who don't check email as often as we should.

Does this mean that we could get our 25% off for being a MVCI owner, 10% for using a Marriott rewards visa and an additional 20% off for this code? For a total of 55% off regular rate?

I am referring to a few nights stay at a MVCI location, not regular hotels since our owner discount doesn't work with those.

I know this is probably wishful thinking, but had to ask.

I don't think the code works for TS's but it's worth a try...probably only participating hotels which seems to be all of them. I always check the AAA, Senior, and Military discounts to see what those prices are before booking so I know the best deals. Anyplace I checked either the AAA or Senior discound was the same as the code rate ... the military rate was lower. The lowest rate you qualify for is the one you should book if you are gold or platinum elite as they'll upgrade you when you check in...and I assume that happens with this code too.

The VISA bonus for MR points will apply to any charges put on the card at any Marriott, but not discounts on price IIRC. Elite MR points bonus too, if you qualify.
