What is your opinion about 2 Lake Tahoe resorts? North Star or High Sierra?

How difficult to book them for June 2022?

Thanks,

Both are very nice. Northstar is more difficult to book since Hyatt has very few units there. It is basically a ski resort but has many summer activities. High Sierra is near the lake and may have more availability in June. That said, any summer week is difficult to book in Tahoe. If you’re trading internally within Hyatt you’ll probably be successful. If it’s an external trade, not so much. Also, there are some rentals on Redweek if that interests you.

High Sierra I believe only has 2 bedrooms. We have stayed at Nortstar in a 1 bedroom and loved it. We especially liked the indoor=outdoor fireplace and close hiking.

I am trying to use CUP points(which will move to LUCP early October) to book for next June. Is it doable? How far advance does availability show up? Thanks.

It is very difficult to trade into summer at HHS. Most owners would rather rent their units for $800 per night (check out res week) than do an internal trade. The units still fetch $25k on the resale market.
We got a Welk unit over 4th of July on a timeshare preview package. I don’t know if they would make that inventory available for trade.

We are going to HHS at the end of June. It was a simple match w/in Hyatt.

We got a match for Middle June at Hyatt High Sierra.

Which view we should request? Pool, garden or woods?

Any particular view/unit we should ask?

Thanks.
