Not a very good list. A period piece movie is one that places you in a place and time. Here are some of my favorite period piece movies.

Casablanca - Need I say more?
The original Ocean's 11. You are <there>, in the Mob run Vegas of 1959-60.
Southern California suburbia of the early 1960's? Bachelor In Paradise.
