There are still Viewmasters at the stores. I bought one for my grandkids to play with at our house.

Still Lincoln logs. I bought more for my sets that the kids played with.

Spirograph is still a thing. My granddaughter got one for her birthday this year, and it's actually improved over years ago.

Superballs are basically the bouncy balls you can still get in several sizes. For me, with my uncles all working at Gates in the 1960's, we always had dozens of Gates Rubber Balls in our house. Loved them for playing jacks, as they were bigger and easier to catch than the stupid little rubber balls in the package of jacks.

I am surprised jacks weren't in the bunch. My grandkids laughed when I told them how to play jacks. We spent hours on the porch playing jacks.

Sparkle Paints was one of my favorites. Don’t know if they still make those kits or not.

Creepy Crawlers - The goop sold by Mattel was really lame as it came out stiff. My dad bought fishing tackle gear from Cabelas long before they started building out brick and mortar stores and were mainly mail order. They had fishing lure "goop" plastic which came out soft and squishy. Additionally, they had fluorescent and glow in the dark colors which were really cool.

I had hours of fun with that toy.

We enjoyed playing with Lincoln logs, but usually played with cowboys and Indians with them. One of my favorite toys was the Kenner girder and panel sets. We also like playing with soldiers and tanks/half tracks when Combat was popular. All of these required imagination and creativity, something that toys today don't often have.

It was a one-off, but one of my favorite toys when I was seven years old was a piece of 1X4 lumber. My father shaped it into a rifle. Imaginary, certainly, but I won more backyard wars with the neighbor kids with that fake rifle than they did with their storebought "real" ones. Mine even made realistic "ka-pow" and "kerblooey" noises when I pulled the imaginary trigger. Oh wait - maybe that was sounds I made. A 1X4 piece of lumber doesn't make a lot of noise on its own. :D

I was a kid in the 60's and I don't even recognize some of those. We loved Tinker Toys, although when my dad played with us, we weren't allowed to touch what he was building, lol.

Another toy I loved were the Betsy McCall paper dolls. They had a new one in the magazine each month, along with her clothes. You had to cut them out yourself. I had a huge collection.

My sister had a lot of Betsy McCall paper dolls. She thought they were pretty great.

One of my good friends and I would play with them a lot. It always ended up we'd play "orphanage" because how many places do you find that is all girls? :D
