One of the most unforeseen results of the Black Death was the ultimate end of feudalism and increase in urbanism. The huge drop in population, particularly amongst the poorest members of society, resulted in increased demand for their services. They were freed up to be able to offer their services to the highest bidder, since there was now competition for those services.
