This is information about the current BG Facebook group run by Scott Wilson and Kevin Collins that help owners sell ( and buyers buy!) their ownership.

There were other groups but BG forced Facebook to shut them down. Now Scott and Kevin have joined forces and run one group.
These gentlemen helped me sell 9 contracts with over 160K points, they can help you too.

What? How did this happen? Because they were using the Bluegreen name in the group names?

Scott's group was shut down earlier this year - BG had been aware of it but because he does not charge to help people they could not ask or force him to stop posting there. ( as per Scott)
Instead they pressured Facebook to suspend/close the group.

So now he and Kevin have joined forces to assist owners sell and buy.

Just using the BG name should not be an issue. Look at all the groups that use the Marriott and II name as well as individual resort names.
And look at all the people we help here to rid themselves of TSs.
Marriott and BG get the units they want via ROFR - it just costs them more than if people just surrender their own ship directly to the companies.

THAT could be the issue.

I guess I am asking is, how was BG able to get Facebook to shut the group down? They usually need a reason to close a group. I doubt BG is big enough to have any clout with Meta.

There certainly can be more to the story but that's what I was told. I know they (BG) actively and aggressively went after the rental groups on Facebook because they claim renting is prohibited in BG contract after years of allowing sales to promote buying more points to rent and having rental listed on their guest certificate/reservation forms.
