Been a while since I posted on here … just checked into Seawatch Myrtle Beach with the peeps.

Got checked into the units - went over to the “concierge” for our wristbands / key cards.

Woman told us how “things have changed” and Club Wyndham website will no longer be updated. Huh? News to me. Need to enter all our info into the Vacasa website so our preferences will be honored. Mmmmmmkay, sure. “When would you like to have your appt to set it all up? 9am or noon?”

Noon sounds fine, I reckon

“I’ll need your credit card to secure your spot.”

“Why?”

“Because… blah blah blah”

Me - “well, I don’t think so. I’m good”

Her - “well, corporate needs to know today….” (I stopped listening)

Me “no thanks, we are just here on vacation, bye”… turned around and left.

I’m not a regular visitor here and did a quick cursory search for Vacasa… not really finding anything that is telling me I’m missing anything.

So - am I? Is there a new website I need to sign into?

I know Club Wyndham website changes like the wind… did I miss where things need to be entered?

I’m very familiar with the “owner’s updates” and we avoid them for all the reasons that people get swindled. I’m a resale owner and we aren’t looking to buy from the developer - so all their tactics don’t work on us.

We blew off Bonnet Creek owners update last year for the same thing “…corporate will be calling you to … blah blah blah”. Got to the unit and unplugged out phones.

My question, though… am I missing anything, other than their tired old schtick?

Thanks in advance. If there are posts / threads on it that I missed - please send me the link so I can get smart!

Many thanks!

You already know you aren't missing anything and the rest of it is lies.

I've not actually stayed at a Vacasa property, but regardless, you don't use your club wyndham points anyway, you use wyndham rewards points, and anyone in Wyndham Rewards can use it. Most properties are 30,000/night for a 1BR and 60,000/night for a 2BR. Used to be 15k/30k, but they changed it last year some time.

To me that's too pricy. It's available to you right now without doing anything if you are a Wyndham Rewards member and have points in there.

Rest of their story is nonsense.

How did you get into your room without wristbands or cards? It seems like you walked off before getting them.

*bleep*, you didn't even get to the good part to find out what the bribe was.

If these were reasons not to attend, we would never go either. We've been five times in five weeks.

I could have been more clear:

“We got checked into our units” - meant we went to the first desk and got our main keycards …

“Went over to the concierge” - meant we went to the next desk (5 feet away) and got all the coupon books / maps / etc - along with our wristbands.

Not looking for the bribe / not in the mood to waste my time sitting through a sales pitch and listen to their lies.

Posted here - Simply wondering if there have been any changes we may have missed.

Most likely not.

Thanks to those who replied.
