If you exchange Wyndham points into RCI resorts, how long does it take for those to post and how are those documented in Wyndham?

We have made many exchanges through Wyndham's portal into RCI resorts. I do not see the deductions from Wyndham for every exchange we have made, unless these weird deductions have something to do with RCI:

What is an Award Expiration?

I have one from 2026 that would boggle your mind, it's 1.6 million points.

Anyway, are you noticing a lack of deductions from your account for RCI exchanges. I see some that say Exchange, but there aren't enough of them, and I do remember depositing a large number into an account one year (maybe the 1.6 million I see as an Award Expiration).

Are you smart Wyndham people able to help me figure this out?

I had a point statement sent from RCI and RCI is correct as to how many points I have used, but it seems that Wyndham isn't deducting points, or I am missing some detail of my point summary.

No one is able to answer my questions? Whoa! Wyndham's Owner Resolutions has been no help.

What are Award Expirations?

When they first split developer and resale I thought it was the number of points left over at the end of the year that were moved to RCI. Back then my account was so messed up it was near impossible to see what was going on. Now, my account is still a mess. Names are wrong. Wyndham title moved a resale contract into it's own account all by itself so now I have 2 member numbers, which totally messed up housekeeping. And more. I'm diverging. Back to "award expirations" I've not been able to make any sense of "award expirations". I've tried asking when I"ve called as well.

For RCI exchanges: I've moved a large chunk of resale points I was not able to use into RCI and then the points deduct from RCI balance as I've used them. Only the one larger deduction shows in Wyndham.

Thank you. I have so many weird subtractions from our account. We gave away some contracts, which I know which ones those are but these oddball amounts don't match what I thought should be coming out of Wyndham for RCI exchanges.

I have some too and they make no sense. I have never done anything with RCI, no transfers (ever). And I have not bought or sold or done anything with contracts for a few years now. Nor have I let any points expire. No clue what that is. I don't think it affected our account / available points either. Transaction history has been relatively worthless since Voyager (so 9 years now?). Wyndham accounting at it's finest!

I can query my Wyndham contacts about the Award Expiration topic. Off the cuff, I'd surmise it's basically the opposite of a Contract Award that appears at the beginning of each owner's use year that deposits the points into the account(s), so somehow points that were originally awarded, expire for some reason, sorta like a credit/debt type equalization within the account for expiring contracts (even if your point balance isn't impacted), but that's pure speculation on my part. More to come if/when I get an answer.

The answer I received back from Wyndham is that Award Expirations noted in any transaction history are essentially expired points. So if you are unable to use all of your use year points, and don't move those points into a future use year or move them to RCI, you will see an Award Expiration notation in your Tx history indicating the expiration of those points.

I am pretty upset with Wyndham at the moment because I was getting an error message at the end of last year saying I didn't have enough points to deposit to RCI, and I called several times about it, but they kept saying that was fact. This year, I got the same message and found out that our RCI account and Wyndham accounts somehow became disconnected, and it will take a few weeks to fix it.

Points expired in 2025 because I had no use for them, and Wyndham was lazy and wouldn't get to the bottom of the issue.
