Amex Hilton (Aspire and Surpass Only) CC Changes

We’ll be staying a night at the Casa Mani Curio in Napa (that recently changed from an Embassy Suites) to burn a FNC. Unfortunately the standard reward rooms at the Carneros Resort are only for 2 people…having a child limits some of the available aspirational stays possible with a FNC.

Casa Mani is very new. It is on the same location that used to be a very nice Embassy Suites. We have stayed there a number of times. When I looked, I was surprised to find no Embassy Suites. Further digging found that this is at the same address.

Cheers.

Yes, I think they just rebadged it as a Curio, but perhaps with recent renovations. This will be my fist time back in California since moving to NY in 2019. We will also be staying a few days at the Signa in SJ.

From the pictures of Casa Mani, it looks fairly different. We may have to check it out in April when we do have a stay at the Andaz for a concert in Napa. We know the Signia well. Half of it is the hotel, half is SJSU housing. It used to be the Fairmont San Jose some time back. We've not stayed in a very long time as there is a nice Marriott that we stay with when we run the San Jose Rock and Roll. And we live about 14 miles away :)

Cheers.

I don't have on either of my AmEx Plattys but some of you might (& may stack on the AmEx Platty Lulu credit)..
TY!
dang it...we just used our credit....but stuck to the bargain bin....so just over $75...

I got a very nice pair of running shorts for just around $75 last quarter. This quarter was a nice t-shirt for $62.50 (left $12.50 on the table). Turns out there is a Lululemon in Los Gatos, about 5 miles away. So no reason for us to miss a quarter.

Cheers.

They do free shipping for orders, so there’s never a reason to miss a quarter. It’s nice to see the goods in person, of course, but good enough on line if it’s the only choice.

True. But I just won't. If I don't go and see something like this, I'll not do the ordering. I'm so over Saks, for example, as the only useful thing they have for me is underwear, and there's only so much underwear I need. I'd rather let a deal pass than just get something because it's free. The two times I've done Lululemon so far is because I happened to be passing a store and said "oh yeah, I can get something. Let's see if they have something I might want."

CSR Stubhub/viagogo and $150 dining I'll plan (just bought Metallica Sphere tickets to use viagogo). The shopping ones at stores I wouldn't otherwise visit, not so much.

YMMV, definitely.

Cheers.

About all I get from Saks now is socks. They don’t even have decent underwear anymore.

Have any of you used the FHR credit for a guest? If so, did it work okay? I am looking at getting a room for my sister and can pay for it when I book, but not sure about check in for the credit and perks, since I will not be there with the CC.

I have been able to reserve two rooms for one night using an FHR but only because both of us are on account. We used one room and friends used the other. Not supposed to be able to use them for someone else.

?? $/dates?
the actual tickets we got at one of the presales is for Nov. 5-7. About $540 total for 2 tickets x 2 shows. But we now have a family conflict, so got some Viagogo tickets for Jan 28-30 that were $685 each.

Cheers.

Interesting glitch with the app, if you go to OS, it will allow you to book, with points, for 2 nights....PC won't....really odd.
Is this with the Amex Aspire or Surpass…?

Just messing with you.

I knew that. I couldn’t get my app to do what you stated though.
I found out that you can pull it up via the app but can't complete the booking... It will show the points and cost but will only let you use cash further in the check out process. This is my 2 night OS test but when you go past this screen, you can only use cash.
