Can anyone recommend wonderful dive shops/ operators for the different islands? Prefer an operator that only takes out small groups and has excellent divemasters. Also, any advice as far as which months have the best diving and what times are the worst?

I'm not opposed to shore diving but I would rather go with a group at least until I am more familiar with diving in the area.

I highly recommend Bonaire
Part of the abc islands

Pretty much any month is good there
You might want to skip October because 50 percent of the rainfall happens then
Overall it’s a very quiet natural island … very safe

Thanks, that one is on the list! Since I'm a hawaii timeshare owner now, the next place I dive is probably gonna be Hawaii other than doing a refresher here on the mainland. I used to be a fairly advanced diver but its been years and I need to do some refreshers. Also, my husband has zero dive experience but grew up free diving in hawaii as a boy. He's native of that Island and I'm excited about him getting certified for scuba. I have had a great experience diving cozumel with a boutique tour operator Scuba Tony and I guess I am looking for the same experience. It was wonderful.

Your welcome to pm me
I’ve had a home in Aruba for 28 years
I know the islands very well
Have fun 🤩

We just had two excellent dives with Kohala Divers which is close to Waikoloa. Plus we got discounts when we booked via HGVC Concierge at Kohala Suites because we took the tour.

On recommendations from a scuba group , we went with Seasport Divers in Poipu. We did 4 days with them that was limited to the South side dive sites because it was winter. We also tried out some wreck dives on the South Coast of Oahu. For me, these drives were better than not diving but nowhere near the dives in the Mexican Caribbean Coast. Visibility and sea life were noticeably lacking.

Given that the OP posted this in the Hawaii forum, I think they were looking for Hawaii dive shop recommendations.

Ok thank you for the honest review.
diving in cozumel was amazing and I have dove other places in the Caribbean but nothing better than that yet. My favorite dive ever was the santa rosa wall. I like wreck dives, thanks for the suggestion!

We dive with Kona Dive Company when on the Big Island. They do the manta ray night dive off of the old airport. When on Kauai we use Sea Sports. There was another dive shop on Oahu that we used but I can’t remember the name. They had the concession to dive Hanuma Bay, just checked and it looks like another shop has it.
