I checked into Ocean Oak a few days ago. The concierge left me a message on my door yesterday to see her. Of course, I “knew” what this was really going to me about. I was going to ask for 200K Hilton honors points to attend an OU. She gave me the standard restaurant information and then looked at her screen. She didn’t even offer me an OU nor has she called my room phone like in the past. I feel kink of hurt that I wasn’t even offered an OU. Maybe HGV has finally figured out that I am not buying retail.

So you should ask if you are still there. Others have PNG credentials like @mountainboy … and I’m always wondering when I will hit that wall. I have a million points and a drink staked on this … it’s seriously serious

I have an Embarc stay coming up. What do they typically offer at Embarc Palm Desert? Are they high pressure like DRI? I was offered presentation at Embarc Whistler many years ago. Did not attend because too busy skiing but the closer was very polite and not pushy.

High pressure, lots of lies. They offer gift cards, can be $100 to $200 depending on how desperate they are to get you in. Whistler is different 1- it's in Canada and we hate the "hard sell" common at US timeshares 2- most of the sales staff has been there 10 to 20 years and actually know the product...(and are members themselves)

Wow, that would be refreshing. I was getting on the elevator yesterday at Ocean Oak waiting with two salespeople and their victims. One of the victims asked if Hilton had and TSs in Aruba. Both salespeople didn’t know the answer. I didn’t want to answer for them.

Btw, planning to be at Whistler early February but don’t expect that I will be doing an OU.

Mine did. I have the basic Amex HH card. But there's not much to charge there...I usually go/leave with just the card used as deposit and no charge. No restaurant but there's several within walking distance, Desert Willows golf club up the road and several down the road at the mall where the Ralph's is.

We were there last year. I wrote about it somewhere, possibly even this thread. They were low key and professional and took no for an answer. We were staying at Palm Canyon on a free three night package with presentation.
