Refundable II Getaway weeks now available

Has anyone used this and got feedback on how it works in a practical level? It looks like its refundable up to 16 days before or so. Is it a full refund if you cancel before then?

I have seen some weeks that were initially non-refundable and then the refundable option has become available. Is there a view on what might drive this change?

Has anyone booked a refundable week and then cancelled it to book the non-refundable option a couple of months later (subject to inventory being available)and was that could be done or are you blocked from seeing non-refundable options?

The premium for refundable is 16% so not trivial

@Hindsite I recently cancelled a 2BR Getaway at Marriott Grande Vista to book a 2BR at Marriott Lakeshore Reserve for the same week. I received a full refund immediately. I continued to see 2BR villas at Grande Vista after that. I don't know the mechanics behind what weeks are available for the full refund rate.
