Interesting, I am been to many of these over the years and generally agree they are are great.

Mama Fish House, I know some don't care for it, but our food and service has been great.
Dukes Waikiki, we have also been to the Maui and southern Cal locations.
La Mer, the food was great, not sure it was worth the money, but someone else picked it
MonkeyPod, been to a few, our service was off last week in Ko Olina
Roys, been to a few but not the Hawaii Kai location
Tin Roof Maui, great food and a must stop location for us now. Wish they had more seating.

I wasn't all that impressed with the food there. However, the service was by far the best I have ever experienced at any restaurant. But still not enough that I would spend that kind of money again unless the food were much better though.

Any list that doesn't include Marugame Udon is flawed. That place is so popular people will wait in line for hours to order.

I have eaten at a few of them on. Its unfortunate most are on Oahu. I don't see myself going to that island anytime soon.

In many trips to Hawaii we have never been to any of them. Personal choice how to spend money. There is lots of good food that isn't out of this world expensive. That said, enjoy.

We prefer Food Trucks.

We liked Mama's all the times we went, but we haven't been back in years. We stopped going when the prices kept going up and the food quality wasn't improving to match the prices. As we've gotten older we don't like to drive across the island after dark so that is another reason we no longer go.

What made the list somewhat interesting was that there are few that are very reasonably priced if not cheap. Definitely in the price range of food trucks. Food trucks aren't always reasonably priced.

After our last Maui trip, we probably made our last trip to Mama's. There's just too many other places we don't get to often and really enjoy.🤙🏻

I just happened on this article so I decided to see the list. I was surprised by a few on the list and in the end I was surprised that I had been to 11 of them.

We have been to 7 of them but the Roy's and Monkeypods were in Waikiki. Just went to the Side Street Inn on Kapahulu on Sunday night after the show at Dimond Head Theatre to see Come From Away.

I have really only been to one Roy's and that was on Guam. It was excellent. All the rest of these, I have been to the locations mentioned in the article.

16 seems like an odd number. Why not 20 or just 15? Don't we like nice round numbers? :)

Many of these lists can be silly, tbos one included. I shared it because it listed them as famous. Which seemed different.

You just reminded me that we have been to Roy's in Waikoloa as well as Waikiki. I know it wasn't for you but going to the Roy's in Guam would be quite a trip for us. I will say that all of the restauants that we have been to had great food.
Helena’s Hawaiian Food is a real whole in the wall place but the Kalua Pig is exceptional and the price is outstanding for a Hawaiian Food Dinner.

Guam was a work trip and unfortunately, Kim was in a wheelchair at the time. If it wasn't for that we would have enjoyed it much more. It definitely has a small island feel.

Luckily, the Roy's was in the hotel we were staying at and work even paid for my meal so even better. Lol
