As long time Vistana/Sheraton/Westin owners we just experienced our first update at a Marriott property and outside the US so I thought I'd share the experience with fellow Vistana owners.
We just had a week at Village d'Ile de France, the resort that is 10 minutes from Disneyland Paris and less than an hour by train from central Paris.
Incentive to attend the low pressure 60 minute update was 100EU resort credit. This seemed standard as they even had posters advertising it to other guests. Their method is you only see one rep and ours spent much of the time talking generally about travel within the Marriott system. Naturally there is a 'sell' and as usual the focus was on trying to get us up to the next level in Abound/Bonvoy but as we already are happy with what we have and I've just retired his job was always going to be difficult.
They are still selling weeks there (RTU through 2082) and our offer was a 3BR LO in Gold Season (Apr-Jun, Sep-Oct) giving us 3300 Abound Points for 17,500GBP (~$24,000) with MF of around 1,800GBP ($2,400). Rudimentary calculations (bearing in mind there's some GBP/EU/USD conversions going on here) show that's a purchase price of $7.27 per Abound Point with MFs of $0.727 per Abound Point.
As an incentive to buy at this price, which we were told was already at a 30-40% discount as we were valued owners, we were offered 7,800 Marriott/Abound points to use in 2026-27.
We were tempted as it is a lovely resort and now only around 5h by train from where we are living (I should drop the Abroad bit of my username) but as usual common sense prevailed and we'll go back there again through Abound.
