On Facebook, I read that WM has opened the surrender program again. Supposedly it's faster but I kind of doubt it because I'm still on phase 2 of our transfer from last Feb.

I bought resale, and didn't realize how lackluster the urban locations are. The main Vegas resort reviews are awful, and Scottsdale looks so-so. I am surprised because we've enjoyed most of the Club Wyndham urban locations. I live in a city with a WM, and we've stayed a few times with Wyndham Rewards during remodel or repairs, and the quality seemed similar. While I am sure WM is worth it for outdoors and resort locations, 75% of our motivation was for urban stays.

We're planning to go to Yellowstone in late April still, then exit the contract with 2026 points untouched. Would this be too late in the year for surrender?

We have a much bigger HGVC ownership & their locations for most urban/touristy places have been excellent. WM has it's footprint in outdoorsy/NP type places which are excellent & unique (w/o any similar options) (& hence got this resale ownership) & do not intend to use the urban locations at all but a bummer to see them being terrible :-(.

Sorry, don't know anything re the surrender program back to WM but may exit by giving away at TUG or via any of the many excellent FB WM groups or via Henri Moreau, per some other threads. Would be nice to hear positive feedback continuing (& others experiences)...

Best!

I'm not sure why the Worldmark exit program was suspended for a while. It could be that the title team at Worldmark by Wyndham was transitioning to Travel & Leisure but I don't know for sure. I'm not sure how long the process takes. It has to be faster than the 8 months I've been waiting for Wyndham to finish my combining of accounts which is total BS because the Wyndham preferred vendors can get this done in a month.

Unless you are truly a 4* or above traveler, WorldMark has a lot of really nice resorts. We loved West Yellowstone, but it's not even close to a 4 star accommodation. Not even close. Same with Estes Park, just a decent stay in a rather small 2 bedroom with no AC.

Dolphin's Cove is very nice, so is WorldMark Anaheim.

I haven't stayed in urban locations and cannot comment on that. We bought WM for National Parks.

Victoria BC, Vancouver BC , San Francisco and the Camlin in Seattle are the only urban WM resorts we have been to. Compared to most of the other WM, these urban locations are smaller with some like Seattle and San Francisco being converted hotels that charge for parking. The locations are great.

I've stayed at both WM Victoria BC, and WM Vancouver BC and thought they were nice units.

I need to get something at Vancouver BC. We loved Vancouver, and it would be great to enjoy a stay before and after an Alaska cruise.

WM Vancouver BC is one of our favorites. It is close to the CBD. It is across from the Wall Center. It is 4 or 5 floors in a Condominium Building. There is underground parking and a Bike Room. You need to get a key for the Bike Room from the Front Desk. You still need to lock up your Bike. The Units are small. We always try to get a 2 Bedroom without a Dining Room. They give you 4 TV Trays to eat in the Livingroom. The Bedrooms and Bathrooms are slightly bigger in this type Unit. The Diningroom is kind of a joke it is a small square by the Kitchen with 2 Walls being glass windows. We park our vehicle when we get there and walk or bike all the City. You can walk down the Hornsby south and get to False Creek and take the little Ferries to Granville Island. Summer time can be hot and the AC they have installed is barely adequate.

I wouldn't say I am 4* or above traveler, but judge for yourself if recent reviews sound appealing::

I already have 3.5 weeks a year with Club Wyndham, and bought WM primarily for stays in Vegas for flights, concerts, conventions, etc. I can't commit to flying to places like BC every year, not with my other ownership.

If you only bought WM for LV you probably should have checked out the resorts there before you bought. I love my WM because I live in PNW. I spent two weeks in Seaside on the Oregon Coast in August for a fraction of the cost of renting similar accomodations. We love the Victoria property and plan to return soon.

I have never stayed at a WM in Vegas and don't plan to, which is why I recently purchased a lock-off week at MVC Grand Chateau.

Grand Chateau is AMAAAZZING. My favorite in Vegas, but I am mostly stuck staying at Wyndham Grand Desert on our over-abundance of points. Not even close to the same accommodations that we enjoy with Marriott.

I haven't stayed at a Hilton in Vegas. I am sure those are superb.

*Look at some videos of the 1 BR or 2 BR Premier at bHC Elara; awesome! (+ almost always have availability at one or the other HGV in Vegas, even in Open Season)...

Agree 100%!
We plan to spend time at WM Discovery Bay (Olympic National park) (with side trip to Victoria BC, right across the ferry around Canada Day) + WM Seaside (Oregon coast) in a nice PNW July 4th trip next year!
(+ some time at WM Oceanside CA).
Awesome places, esp for what one gets for that price, in those locales...
