Any idea who or which department I would contact to request an update to my login username for the Wyndham website?

When you try and submit a request/question through the "Ask and Answer" section of the website you are forced to check the box to allow them to "agree that Wyndham Vacation Resorts may contact me at the above phone number and/or email (regardless of do-not-call registration) regarding timeshare promotional offers, products, and services", and I am not interested in doing that.

Contact Owner Services they can assist you with this request.

I had a much easier time with the Title department getting them to change an owner name on the account earlier this month than that call to Owner Services, but they got it done.

I don't believe Title services can make a change to your online account login name though, which is not the same as your owner name on your account.

I did not think to ask them about it at the time, but I would imagine not.

One delay today was that the Owner Care rep was telling me the email address in their records did not match the one I gave them for my account. After some back and forth, it was revealed that they were seeing an old email address of mine. I stated that I was logged in to the account and on the owner dashboard, so I was definitely sure what the current one was. She asked when I changed it, and that was about six months ago...

It's incredibly frustrating that Wyndham cannot seem to figure out where all the various places in your account that emails are stored. I have engaged owner care multiple times to fix this but I still get some emails at my old email address which I used when I first became an ower years ago. It also still shows up in my owner dashboard along with my newer, correct email address. They did fix it in that I get booking confirmations and "the important stuff" at the proper email address, but I still get some emails there.

I see this quite often with numerous other companies. It’s not endemic to Wyndham or timeshare in other words. Marketing lists oftentimes don’t update properly. For example I still get promotional emails to an old yahoo.com address that I haven’t used in years, from many other businesses, in addition to getting emails to my updated email address, despite using either unsubscribe/resubscribe or the “manage subscription” type links. I’ve contacted the companies in the past and they don’t “see” my old email address in their configuration, yet I continue to get emails to both my old and new address.

IME this is oftentimes because these companies all buy lists of email addresses for marketing and promotional purposes that still contain older email addresses that are used to attempt to get new customers. So the old email addresses aren’t in their system, they’re just using bought lists.

Not saying this is the case with Wyndham, I think they just have many disparate systems that have different data on the back end and the IT systems they have obviously are not using a data-lake/Lake-house architecture to homogenize data across the various sources to improve data integrity.

It was a minor annoyance, and I will give them credit - they got everything completed correctly.

To summarize in case anyone sees this in a later search (because I looked but did not see anything that applied to these specific situations):
  1. Title services will change the owner name on an account. They will send you the following links (hopefully still working when you see this in the future, if not call them):
Thank you for contacting Title Services.
Please utilize the links below to request ownership changes.
Once we receive and review your request, we will provide you with a link in order to make the fee payment.
If we need to contact you pertaining to your request, we will do so via email; otherwise, once your request is completed, you will receive a confirmation letter.
Questions or concerns, please contact us at 800.251.8736. Please have your contract or member number available when you call.

There was no charge for the name change, just had to upload the court documents (also, no requirement to send in new/corrected deeds).
  2. Owner Care is who to contact to change your website login username.
