Got an II match at Hyatt Coconut Cove for Thanksgiving. Think it’s going to be fun and any inputs for kids (8yo) around the area are appreciated!

We go there a lot but never payed attention to that. I know some of the activities were halted after hurricane damage. That is a slower time of year, so it is probably best to call the resort.

There is a zero entry pool and a lazy river they will enjoy. They used to let you use the water park at the Hyatt regency but i think they charge now but maybe they will not offseason - again ask. You have to schedule a beach shuttle which takes you to the Hyatt Regency dock and they take you by boat. Chairs and umbrellas (and bathrooms) are provided, and you can take a cooler without issues. You may want to book your first day the week before you go (I think you can only have one reservation - the next).

It is a beautiful resort, but there has been damage the last 3 years or so during Sept/Oct and things were shutdown. They got the main pool back first but the lazy river takes longer as did the beach. The last 3 trips i have taken, the beach was still under repair. I think everything is open now, but we need a break from the storm surges.

Hope the lazy river will be open during Thanksgiving week. Is there any repair / renovation concern re building choice. Got a 2-bedroom.

Everything should be open now.

The issue is whether or not the main pool and lazy river complex will get a storm surge again before Nov and trash them. They are 8-12 feet below the clubhouse level and 1st floor room levels.

I have been in the last few years where only the adult lap pool on the clubhouse level was open. Another time where the main pool complex was also open but the lazy river closed. The beach has been closed every time we have gone in the last 3 years because we go around Oct/early Nov.

When Ian hit in 2022 the entire island where the private beach is was severly reshaped. That took a long time to recover from, then it got hit with Idalia in 2023 and Milton in 2024. I believe the main pool/lazy river complex was closed after each event.

Thanks! Fingers crossed that no big storms this hurricane season. Also curious if any two-bedrooms lock off and have dual entries (would be convenient to bring some friends).

First time to this resort and asked ChatGPT for a 7-day plan. Just to share and it looks fun!

There are 2 types of 2BR units. The true 2BR units have 2 beds in the second BR vs a king bed in the studio of a lockoff. Your interval resv should specify.

The 2br lockoff units are a different setup than most lockoff units. There is keyed access to a single entrance hall with additional keyed access to the 1br and to the studio. This allows shared access only if doors are left open - but zero, one or both doors could be left open in the entrance hall and you are still secured by the lock into the entrance hall.

If it's the studio side of lockoff units, does it also have a pull-out sofa bed so it seelps 3 or 4?

I guess I cannot see if it's a ture 2BR or a lockoff. Here is what I got from Interval. Is it possible to add the confirmation to Hyatt.com or apps to find out more.

Sleeping Accommodations
Living Area
1 Pull Out Sofa(s)(Queen)
Bedroom 1
1 King Size Bed(s)

Odd - it say "or" .

A 1br sleeps 4 (king bed and sleeper sofa in living room)
A 2br sleeps 8 (king bed in main br, 2 full beds in 2nd br, sleeper sofa in living room)

ChatGPT has you driving a lot!
What does your child like? Trains? cars?
Coconut Point Mall is beautiful but it won’t be leisurely thanksgiving week.
For instance, if you want a leisurely nature hike, go to a lakes Park. Not only do they have trails but you can rent surreys, bikes that seat four or six, paddle boats, and ride a miniature train through all the tiny sw Florida towns, plus your child can have fun on playground equipment in the shape of a train.
Revs in Naples has 116 racing cars on display and volunteers to tell you everything about them. . You can drive to Tin City afterwards for lunch, and/or go to Fifth Avenue and walk down to the beach
If shelling, go to Sanibel Island and if you are on the island at low tide, drive through Ding Darling
Go on an airboat ride or drive down to Everglades to see alligators and wildlife, Shark Valley is far but a fun trip.

Great addition to ChatGPT! I also read about a ferry to some island nearby that you can take from the Resort - think we will do that. And something about Camp Hyatt - so adults can be free.. Many good ideas for just one week!

That is if it is open. The island is a beach. Hurricanes did a lot of damage in the past. Weather has to be right also although November is usually very nice

Actually I found this interesting information from II. Could 5265 be the unit number I will be assigned to. Curious what room type it is.

Hyatt Vacation Club at Coconut Cove
HCC

Unit: 5265 (2 Bedrooms)
Week: 47

5265 is a 2nd floor true 2br unit in building 52.

Thanks! Do you think they take request? Think I prefer a dual entry lock off. Might just give them a call to find out.

You can ask. I suspect if they put the unit number on the resv that you are set with that unit. Unit 5265 is definitely not a lockoff.

It probably benefits them to deposit a lockoff as 2 separate deposits.
