We went to a Vidanta presentation and they offered to sell us 3 a bedroom Grand Luxxe if we gave them our 7 Marriott deeded weeks, paid them the next ten years of of maintenance fees (then they would be no more maintenance fees after that) with the first three years paid up front. No other costs to us. We would get two weeks at the resort and two week some where else each year PLUS retain the use of our 7 weeks with Marriott.

what have others seen when actually purchasing from Vidanta?

I'm not an owner but this all sounds like common TS salesperson bullcrap. And common Mexico TS claiming to take other systems TS weeks - which they don't do as far as I can tell. I wouldn't believe any of that.

I doubt if you got to the contract stage, that would be the actual offer.

Don't believe a word they are saying!!

Hopefully you didn't sign anything. If you did, you have only 5 days to cancel.
The story you were told is a bunch of lies.

As a longtime "owner/member" since 1999 when it was just Mayan Palace or Sea Garden, then they changed the name to Mayan Resorts, added Grand Mayan and became Groupo Mayan and eventually got to Vidanta. I agree with Eric B and WorldT.

I do not sign anything until I have had time to thoroughly read a contract. Years ago, I used to take 2 highlighters in my suitcase in case hubby wanted to upgrade. If we did and signed the paperwork, we took it back to our unit and each of us read through it in detail and anything that was a "red flag" was highlighted. Twice, we went back the next day and told them that all the things promised were not there. Once they gave us addendums to include what we were told and added one that was not spelled out and once they did not. On the one that we did not get addendums for, we cancelled right then. You have 5 days from signing (Sunday does not count) to rescind and get your deposit back. Fortunately the one contract that I still have is the one we had the added addendum for.
