Equal Points for Studio and 1-Bedroom Units at Ocean Tower?

Question: At HGVC Ocean Tower, why do the Studio Premier, 1-Bedroom Plus Large, and 1-Bedroom Premier Small all require the same number of points (14,880)? I can understand the similarity between the two 1-bedroom units, but why is the Studio Premier valued the same?

There are many examples of Studio Premier units being more valuable (or costly depending on your perspective ) than standard 1BR units at the same resort.

But it's the same value as the 1bdrm. Premier? Why? It's a kitchenette vs kitchen, and 2 people vs 4 people. I just don't get it.

My answer would be "because." There are some things humankind was never intended to understand.

You can call the resort and ask. If you do, please share.

Based on the old Ocean Tower brochure (link), I'm assuming it's based on floor, view and location.
  • Plus is partial ocean view and premier is ocean view
  • Studio premier is ocean view on the top floor.
  • One bedroom premier small is ocean view on one of the top two floors

UPDATE: The point chart in the screen capture above is an older version (pre-merger). After the Diamond merger, HGVC increased all point charts by 60% (1.6X multiplier)..

The points chart on the 2nd picture are not accurate, but the definitions are.

That chart was from before the 1.6X point multiplier that was applied to all HGVC properties due to the merger with the Diamond properties.

TY - I could not remember the 1.6X point multiplier and the multiplier I did use was off by several thousands of points.

I just wanted to return and thank you again. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this. It was incredibly helpful for me.

UPDATE....

I no longer trust the old HGVC Ocean Tower sales brochure regarding location.

Based on a recent TUG review, Ocean Tower penthouse units can be on all floors. The following is from a July trip report discussion (link).

For the room types you mentioned in your original post, Hilton Grand Vacation's online room description does provide view and room size information (see below). However if location is important to you, I suggest calling the resort for clarification.

Also, take a look at our resort sticky thread for additional Ocean Tower info (link).

There's some excellent location information as of Spring 2023 along with room photos. The following is just a snippet from that detailed post.
