Hello,

I was curious if anybody could share their experience with Grand Pacific dissolution of their timeshare please. I am not referring to San Diego Country Estates.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

The only way you can get rid of a timeshare is to sell it or give it away (if there is no loan), or stop paying and get foreclosed. Some, very few, have takeback programs but usually these costs you a fee and are for the valuable properties that you should just sell.

I am also curious about exactly what the OP is referring to. She and I both own at SDCE which is currently under the Grand Pacific management and is in the process of being sold and dissolved. So are you OP asking if anyone else has gone through this with another timeshare under Grand Pacific?

Luanne,

Sorry it was not clear. I am wondering if anyone else has gone through this with another timeshare under Grand Pacific.

Thank you.

I am still under the impression that SDCE is dissolving the Association and selling all the resort property. Further information we received was:
Moved that the Board of Directors engage Grand Pacific Resorts for Dissolution Services and to organize an Owner vote to dissolve the Declaration of CC&Rs of the Association, according to Section 8.4 of the Declaration, subject to further legal advice by our Attorney.

So I guess your question is whether anyone else has gone through a dissolution of a timeshare they owned where Grand Pacific Resorts handled the dissolution services? What is it you are trying to find out? How long it took? Was there really any payout to owners? At this point we (meaning my family) is just taking a wait and see approach.

Luanne,
Grand Pacific is claiming that they are currently helping another timeshare with the dissolution. That was one reason why the board decided to work with the Grand Pacific Services. I reached out to the person in charge at the Grand Pacific Services but no response so far.
I would like to get more transparency about fees and cost. I am sure some member's which are currently going through this process can provide us with some great feedback.

@kate007 did you receive the email from SDCE with an opportunity for timeshare Owners to transfer their ownership to another resort within the Grand Pacific family.

Luanne,

Thank you for your message. Yes, I did receive the email.
FYI, I reached out to Pat (president of the board) SDCE and Rick (Grand Pacific Services) to please share with me some of the other resorts they successfully were helping already. It doesn't hurt to check on facts. Keep in mind that was one of the reasons why SDCE choose Grand Pacific Services. Unfortunately, Pat refused to disclose it and Rick never responded to my emails. Furthermore, I asked Pat to please share the recording from the last zoom meeting since I was not able to attend. My request got denied. I believe that our elected board has a fiduciary responsibility and should be more transparent.
The next zoom meeting will be in Sep. and I emailed the board if the recording can be accessed by the owners who can not attend the zoom meeting. I am still waiting for a response.
