Three. And I was forced to take a trip down memory lane. Had a gal who worked for me who had a little dance she did using that commercial to sell window coverings. She could sell snow to Eskimos, but wouldn’t do her darn paperwork to place the order. Drove me crazy for the six months I put up with her.

Another person checking in with a five. Not a bad start. Doesn't seem like this word should have given us so much trouble, but it has, at least for the early people to check in on this site.

Feeling not too bad about my four. I think I’m making it harder now with my strategy of actually trying to guess the word as opposed to building on letters. As the word list dwindles, I find myself searching for more obscure words and that may have me in a bit of a rut.

Always interesting how we approach this game, and end up with the same word.

Five today.

@DaveNV you got me thinking. First, I thought, well on rare occasions, we don’t actually all end up with the same word because someone strikes out. Then, I wondered if any of us are 100% in solving the Wordle. How about it? Any overachievers out there? If so, how long is your streak?

I didn't mean it that way. I meant that we each approach things differently, but (in many/most cases) we end up at some point choosing the right word.

My streak sucks because I don't play every day. I'll say I "usually" come up with the right word by the sixth guess. It's rare that I don't solve it. But some people here seem to imply that if you need more than two or three guesses to solve it, you're somehow a poor player. I don't agree. I think if I solve it in six, that's as good as anyone else, since there is no starting point. People approach the game from different directions, as I said, and we generally end up with the right word.

I think a larger question to ask is how many people here use helper apps, clue bots, and other things that give them a leg up in solving the game? I find it highly suspicious that some people seem to solve the wordle in two or three guess an awful lot of the time. Seems pretty convenient, unless they have a place to start. I don't use anything. I have six tries to solve the word, and *most* days I solve it. If I failed more than not, I wouldn't have any desire to keep playing the game.

I solve myself, and choose different starter words for variety. With Connections, I don’t have the patience, and almost every day I cheat. That is why I never post those results.

I never use anything else. I just enjoy trying to match wits with the creator. It is interesting the different strategies we use and if anyone has been perfect, I’ll want to see how they approach it. Or, maybe none of us has solved every day, which to me would support your belief that you’re successful as long as you get it in 6. However, I do get just a little more satisfaction if I can solve it in 1, 2 or 3. I don’t compete with anyone here. I want us all to solve it and it doesn’t matter to me how many tries it takes anyone else, just myself.

Connections is too random. They group words together in ways that unless you have knowledge of that word set, you’d never group them together. So unless you look up the stray words, you might never associate them together.

Exactly! I stopped playing connections because I found it too random and frustrating. I found myself looking up words when I was completely lost. if I didn't, i would be stuck on it all day. i will play it occasionally now but I stopped posting my results.

Agree with both of you. I spend a couple minutes on it, then I’m done. This morning they have a word, MOWN. I’m 70 years old and never seen that one before So would have no idea what to “connect” it to.
