We have a week at this resort in June. I am late in planning our activities. I'll reread the TUG reviews and have searched a bit for posts on other travel forums, but any suggestions appreciated.

I ask a few co-workers from the Northeast and all they could come up with was Newport. Will definitely spend some time there, so appreciate Newport suggestions as well.

We enjoy the scenery, some historical sites, interesting architecture, a little flea marketing or exploring antique stores, farmers markets. Everything needs to be family friendly and not crazy expensive. We have a family member with limited mobility, so most athletic activities are out. We aren't interested in watching sports either.

Thanks for your help.

Sheila

Visit - Beavertail Light - Park - Museum - Aquarium - RI

Beavertail is the third oldest lighthouse in the US

Discover Jamestown's most visited landmark
at the Southern Tip of Conanicut Island
with its panoramic views of Narragansett Bay.

They have huge rocks were people can sit/stand on the rocky cliffs and look out at the passing boats, ferries and yachts. The waves hitting the rocks are simply beautiful.

Newport Flower Show

The Newport Flower Show is held at Rosecliff Mansion and
will be held this year from June 24 through June 26, 2016

Ferry ~ Pell Bridge

Jamestown Newport Ferry

The ferry makes the following stops:

Rose Island:
Fort Adams:
Waites Wharf:
Perrotti Park:

Address:
1 East Ferry Wharf, Jamestown

Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge

The (toll) bridge, part of RI 138, connects
the City of Newport on Aquidneck Island and
the Town of Jamestown on Conanicut Island.

Thanks for all of the great tips. You are definitely helping ease my research task.

I second this ~ the park is a great area for a picnic. We own at the Bay Voyage, and this is one of our favorite spots, be sure to bring binoculars!

Stayed here off season a few years ago. Very nice resort. We had a one bedroom unit. Not sure if they have larger than that. We enjoyed the resort. Jamestown is a nice walkable village.

There are only 1 bedroom units here. When you go over to Newport, park at the Visitors Center, there's a hop-on hop-off trolley that goes all over town. For 1 initial price, you have unlimited access all day ~ we loved it!!
Try this website................scroll down to the bottom of the page, lots of info. there:

My son is 17, but special needs. It is hard to find things he is interested in.

Thanks for the links. I'm looking forward to trying several of the suggestions.

We also have a one-bedroom. I was reviewing the reservation yesterday and had forgotten we only have a limited kitchen. That is tough for us. Are there good restaurants in the area?

Thanks again,

Sheila

Recent reviews on trip advisor mention the dining room and kitchen will be open soon. You may want to check with the place....maybe they have a common area kitchen? Also, if they have grills you could BBQ and microwave veggies.

Check out the recent post I just started on pretty much the same topic:

As for restaurants in the area: Down the road from the resort on Narragansett Ave there are a bunch of places.
