It seems that the flights are at least $400 for the 2 of us to fly from LIH to OGG (Sep 3) using Google flights. Any other suggestions? Prices seem steep to just island hop.

I heard they don't have ferries from one island to another.

Thanks,

Julian

Not sure about your pricing, but my search on the Hawaiian Airline website shows a price of $226 for the two of you ($112.99 each) for one-way LIH-OGG on 9/3 and that's with extra legroom seats.

Oh duh. No wonder Google Flights had it higher. The check box is defaulted to round trip and we wanted 1 way.

Many thanks for checking!

Best way is to use frequent flyer miles from a partner airline. It only takes 7500 for a one way trip on Hawaiian using American Airlines miles. Here's a tip, you can get up to 50,000 miles if you sign up for an AA credit card, and the annual fee is waived for the first year. Sign your spouse up too, and you'll have enough miles for years of interisland flights.

Thanks. My wife just got her Citi Plat AA bonus of 65k miles. I think we're using all of it try to get to Hawaii. We do a have a lot of AA gift cards (from other cc). I'm wondering if I can use those gift cards to get those Hawaiian miles or points?

I think you can use the gift cards, just book the tickets through the AA web site.
