I’m assuming you bought this retail. If so, I would rescind immediately. You can get silver points for free and unless it’s a place the SW Florida resorts that you would use the underlying week, I would suggest not to buy silver period. Let’s just say you can get a 7000 point platinum unit for half of what you paid.

If you are still within the rescission period (only 5 days in SC):
RESCIND NOW. Do it eggsactly as spelled out in your contract.
Do not go back to the sales office and do not accept their calls.

It's easy to be hornswoggled by "friendly" TS sales-weasels.
In the resale market, you can buy HGVC packages for LT $1/pt.
BTW, resale owners get the same benefits as retail owners
('cept only elite status starting at 14K points).

Lastly: You'd need a ton more points to enjoy the program,
which itself is fine, as long as you avoid the sales-weasels.

Hi, welcome to Tug.

If you are within the recind period, definitely recind. I own at Anderson and got a resale for a every year week at 8400 points for half of what you spent. You can look on roft.net to see other resale prices.

If the rescind period passed, learn how to use it to your best. Many of us here on tug purchased our first timeshare from a developer at full retail price and learned afterwards about the resale market.

Either way, stick around, here on tug you will learn everything you need to know about timesharing.

Do not kick yourself too hard.
Many here did that on their first few forays into the TS world. But if you decide that you need more points and want to reduce your price per point ratio, check out the resale market. There are several brokers who specialize in HGVC with solid reputations, a marketplace here on TUG, redweek and eBay (but be cautious there).
