If you are a resort owner with HGVC but need to purchase a few nights do you get a discounted price at their resorts or is the price the same regardless if you are a member or not.

I think if there's "Open Season" available, it *might* be cheaper. I say that because apparently sometimes it's cheaper to book online via the regular hiltonhonors.com website vs. HGVC Open Season rates.

I've never had to do that though.

Yes, Open Season is available to owners only. It can be a good deal on HGVC rooms in places like Hawaii. It seems to be common that you can get a HGVC Las Vegas room cheaper by booking through Hilton.com. It's a good idea to shop around when booking a cash stay.

Be aware that Open Season booking has limitations:
(1) You can't book MT 30 days out. (2) You pay upfront. (3) Cancellation penalties apply.

If you can wait to book and you're darn-sure you'll be there, it's fine.
But to avoid those limitations, do a hotel booking that you can cancel.
Then when the OS window opens, book that and cancel the hotel "room."

For NYC Open Season rates are only available for West 57 owners. May also be the same for the Residences and DC.

I am sure there are instances when Hilton.com is cheaper than Open Season. However, the comments that I have read a number of times here that Hilton.com is cheaper is not true. I have searched for HGVC Las Vegas on Hilton.com many times before and didn't book them since they were too expensive for my budget. For Las Vegas, we want locations in the middle of the strip since we don't want a car and want to be able to walk to things day and night. I just checked the week September 22-September 29 for which I am interested in going to Vegas. For a Studio the Flamingo is $212/night and the Elara is $221/night both before taxes. I can't believe that Open Season is that expensive. The problem for me is that Open Season is rarely available at these two resorts when we want to go to Vegas for a week or so which is late September or early October.
