Avatars - image truncated

    When your avatar is shown in your posts and a few other places on the board it is shown as a square.

    If your uploaded avatar image is a rectangle rather than a square, it will be truncated to a square of the shorter dimension. Your full rectangular avatar image will be shown in your profile.

    H-141.jpg .. will be shown in posts as .. H-141a.jpg

    By default, the square is taken out of the middle of the longer dimension.

    At the time of uploading such a rectangular image, a small box with a colored border shows the square portion which will be used. You can choose where to position this square by dragging the small image in the box up/down (for tall images) or left/right (for wide images).

    H-141b.jpg .. can become .. H-141c.jpg

    Note: For a rectangular image that you have already set as your avatar, you can reposition the square by revisiting the avatar selection in your profile.​

    When you are satisfied with the position of the square, click the "Okay" button.

    If you have a rectangular image for which you want to have the full uncropped long edges shown, the only way you can fix this is to create a new file with the image padded out to a square, then upload that:
