Definitely a tough way to end a vacation!! There is still conflicting information as to the nationalities of the deceased. The Armed Forces initially reported the dead as four Americans and one unknown foreign national. Local emergency services indicated it was four Canadians and one other foreign national. And finally a local newspaper in the region has said it was four Canadians and the American pilot.

So I guess we will have to wait for the formal identification to find out who in fact died. A tough wait for any families who might be concerned if their relatives might have been involved. In any case, may they RIP.

It was the Pilot that was Canadian and 4 of the passengers were American as per the article. The article also states the pilot told a passenger on a flight prior to the crash that that flight had been delayed due to mechanical issues. So sad!

Thanks for the update, Diane. I just saw it on the CTV National News tonight at 11 pm. Apparently one of the passengers did initially survive the crash but later succumbed to his injuries. A tough day for their families.
