3 Bedrooms available with 196,900 StarOptions (!); only 21 villas built in the first phase; only a total of approximately 50 villas built for the entire resort at completion and it’s ski-in/ski-out. The Sheraton Steamboat Springs Resort Villas is located mountainside in scenic Steamboat Springs, Colorado! This resort is slated for 2009 as the first year of occupancy. This from my sales consultant, who is doing a great job keeping us in the loop.

Riverfront comes up next month.

Looks like if I could negotiate a requal our 2 resales at once - we could get to 5* with a 3Bd Plat+ purchase of $65K

Good luck. I tried very hard to do 2 and even said we'd purchase one of the New Year weeks but they turned it down. Went up to the VP of sales at Starwood FL.

If you can, please let me know. We'd want to do the same thing!

Also, might want to wait to see Riverfront. It sounds a bit more "resort like" with more to do. The Sheraton is ski in, ski out but a smaller complex and less nightlife, restaurants, etc.

Sorry - I should have put a smilely by my post - I wasn't serious other than it would be the cheapest route to get 190K+ SOs that I would need (along w/ the 2 requals) to attain 5*/PFL.

If I did try - I may be able to pull it off because both of my requal are M resorts - so perhaps n their view they are requaling into SVN that I already have (since these are M resorts) - you never know.

besides... I am holding out for one of those 3Bd Aruba LOs. :)

I'm just getting up to speed with SVO & requals so I may have missed some changes about this point, but couldn't you buy EOY to requal the 1st, wait some period of time (1 month or something reasonable, maybe even 6 months or a year) & then decide you want to purchase the other year of the contract you don't have to requal the 2nd one since the upgrade to EY would be >$20,000 & the original EOY is definitely >$20,000?

Good point - you could likely do it at the same time with 2 separate contracts anyway. I was just speculating. Plus, they are charging ~65% for EOY.

I have 222K SOs with SVO, and 148K SOs resale (2 VOIs)- so I would need ~189K SOs from SVO to get to 5* with the requal of the 2 VOIs.

Of course my Robin would shoot me...

David, I see we seem to have the same "Robin" issue.

I want 5* elite, she wants to keep money in the bank.

to get my DH on board with the 5* i told him we are going to use it as our retirement home. for 8 weeks we will be in warm weather in a TS. where else can you get a vacation home with no responsilbilty for repairs or cleaning and furnished and can change locations every year? and then he likes the "platinum thing". he is waiting for joel pope to call to welcome him, i hope he doesn't hold his breath until he calls.

can someone clean up the post...it's hard to see the column breaks/headings. Thx!

I thought aruba's 3 bedrooms were going to ONLY be fixed weeks?

I don't know of a way to do that. When you post something in columns on TUG it loses it's formatting. Any suggestions?

Pricing is not Aruba

You may have to figure out pricing and SOs from the existing format - that is how it comes.

Here're the numbers in each row:
EY price, SP incentive, SP incentive, EOY price, SP incentive, SP incentive, Annual StarOptions, Annual StarPoints (upon conversion)

BTW, Westin Aruba will be on sale starting April 1.

Hi Katherine,

Do you know the difference in weeks for platinum versus platinum+?

thanks!

No, not off the top of my head. I seem to recall her saying president's weekend is Plat Plus. I thought so were week 51 and 52 but it seems like they made those extra special and extra pricy (Plat +++++)/

I'll ask the rep on Monday. They are now officially on sale so anyone can now call and get any sort of info. K

Yikes... another crazy StarOptions allocation, IMO from a quick glance. Not many at the 148,100 or higher range - and Platinum 3BD at only 125,000 and 2BD at 95,700! Try trading within SVN for that and get something equivalent in size...NOT.

I called a sales person from SVO today, and got the following additional information on the steamboat property:

villa sizes (no lock-offs):
3 bedroom mountain: 1946 SF
3 bedroom valley: 1762 SF
2 bedroom valley: 1617 SF

platinum+: weeks 48,49, 1-15

Wow, no one bedroom or studios!

Pretty much discourages the couples with no kids and getaways for two.

Anyone know the II code for this resort? Couldn't find it in the II online directory.

No, I think it's the usual valuation for a prime location in the prime season. It's just the terminology that's confusing us. It looks to me like:

Platinum + is what we normally call Platinum.

Platinum is what we normally call Gold.

Silver has stayed silver.

Just noticed that the steamboat property info is online now (photos, floorplans, etc...):

http://www.starwoodvacationownership.com/sheraton_steamboat_resort_villas/welcome.jsp

Here's the downloadable brochure located at the above site:

http://www.starwoodvacationownership.com/factsheets/sheraton_steamboat_resort_villas_factsheet.pdf

It also lists the StarOptions for the three seasons. The Platinum (formerly known as Gold :) ) and Silver seasons are give slightly differing values than we've seen before.

Also, means that 81K SO from say a 1Bd WKORV, either standalone or LO portion of a 2Bd, won't cut it either for a SVN trade.
