I have no idea why we see so little inventory, and almost all of it's gone before I get up in the morning.Has the inventory been really scarce lately? I'm trying to figure out if my unit is just not trading well. In the past six months or so it seems as if availability in interval has gone way down. Any thoughts?
It should work.a blue green unit in Charleston, SC. Again, it has just been in the last 4 months or so I haven't seen much. But I've been using this unit for quite awhile to trade for DVC.
Since RW doesn't allow rentals of exchanges and now RW requires all weeks to be verified/ protected, this practice has come to a sudden halt.Inventory is showing up but it’s being snatched up almost as soon as it shows up. I suspect that megarenters are using bots to claim it quickly, based on the number of confirmed weeks rentals with a “fee at check in” showing up on redweek. At some point hopefully II cracks down on this since it’s against the TOS to rent an exchange.
I thought this wasn't actually true, it's just more hidden on the website?nd now RW requires all weeks to be verified/ protected
It's true. I cannot advertise my DVC Points (not that I would EVER use RW again for DVC) myself. I have to get a reservation and have them verify. I would never do that again. I was asking a reasonable cost on my reservations, and they didn't rent. Not much DVC rents on RW. It's actually close to zero that actually rent. Terrible for DVC rentals. I cannot say that enough.I thought this wasn't actually true, it's just more hidden on the website?
Selecting "No, I haven't reserved anything yet" no longer works. If the DIY option is still available, I have not found a way to access it.I thought this wasn't actually true, it's just more hidden on the website?
They've gone through several phases to get to the point where they are now with no DIY option at all. At first it was just hidden. Then they increased the price but made owners start using Verified and Protected but they could still apparently list DIY. Now DIY is completely gone.I thought this wasn't actually true, it's just more hidden on the website?
I suspect there are still many people listing II exchanges in the many Facebook groups. Just because Redweek isn't an option, it doesn't mean people won't still find a way. Though as Facebook is supposed to require a real name to have a profile, it is easier to get caught renting exchanges.Since RW doesn't allow rentals of exchanges and now RW requires all weeks to be verified/ protected, this practice has come to a sudden halt.
Bots? I want a bot to search for me. I just need May and mid-January. Those shouldn't be tough.
I am going to start answering the phone when II calls me to offer an exchange because I was able to get Westin Nanea yesterday out of a phone call. It was amazing.

Redweek just isn't the place that people go to rent DVC. There are several large point brokers out there that dominated the DVC rental space.Do resorts like Aulani rent better? They cannot be grabbed by exchangers.

Yes. The only option requires an upfront fee of $59 and then a fee of $99 if rented. The renter has to also pay a 10% booking fee along with any applicable state or local taxes.Do you still have to pay upfront fee for “verified and protected”?
If “verified and protected” is the sole option, how can DVC exchanger pass the “verification”? They pay for NOT being verified?Yes. They aren’t passing verification. In the past many would list DIY.If “verified and protected” is the sole option, how can DVC exchanger pass the “verification”? They pay for NOT being verified?
Well many here ranting about people renting exchanges on RW...They aren’t passing verification. In the past many would list DIY.
I think the person that posted it was misinformed on how Redweek had changed.Well many here ranting about people renting exchanges on RW...
They absolutely were renting exchanges on RW. I’m glad to hear that this practice has (recently) stopped.Well many here ranting about people renting exchanges on RW...
And I’m sure @dioxide45 is correct and they are still being rented elsewhere, just not on Redweek. These II listings just disappear immediately. Even as recently as a year ago they lasted longer, sometimes for days. Now there can be a huge dump of availability by DVC at 6 am and everything is gone by 8 with many gone within minutes.
